Super Smash Bros Brawl Character Select Screen Leaked!

Alucard of the Infendo Forums has supplied us with images from Japan confirming all 35 characters for Super Smash Bros Brawl. Click on in to see the entire character selection screen!
So in addition to the characters we’ve already heard about, we now have:

Jigglypuff
Gannondorf
Lucario
Wolf O’Donnell
Ness

Captain Falcon

I read on Joystiq that this was fake, but I don’t have anything to back that up. Just thought I’d throw out that red flag.

That’s where I read that it was fake, but it was simply a decision reached by the commenters. Read their arguments if you like.

If this is real … my only complaint is that it should have been Krystal instead of Wolf. Didn’t Sakurai say he wanted more female characters?

That image above isn’t quite right. The characters all look to be correct, but the placement is off.
Here’s an image with 34 characters.
If you notice, Wolf isn’t in this image; however, if you were to put him between to Dedede and Lucario, that would push everyone from Lucario onward one space to the right, which would make everyone line up with characters from their series, if there’s a series with more than one character.
This could just as easily be Krystal, but given that there was a roster with 35 characters that leaked out a week or so ago and everyone on it has been confirmed except for Wolf…I’m betting it’s Wolf.

Doesn’t Wolf’s head look too small? Everybody else takes up more space in their selection box.
Andrew, do you have a link to the 35-character image you mentioned? Does it have the same picture of Wolf as above?

Yeah that first picture is bad, which is really my fault.
However, those are all the confirmed characters.
If you check the forum, I been updating the images as I get them.

Real or fake, I just hope Jigglypuff IS FOR SURE in the game. Pikachu is my #1, and Jigglypuff is my #2. My brother will be very glad if Marth is in fact in the game.

*sigh*No Megaman. Oh well it is still a good list and I’m happy to know that all of my old favorites are making a return Ness, Zelda, and Marth may continue to be my main characters but I am still very interested in Lucas, pit, olimar and cell link as well as all the others. Real or not I’m most happy with the ones that we KNOW are going to be there.

The first column with all characters unlocked should be

The second column should be
Donkey Kong
Diddy Kong
Yoshi

Then

Zelda
Ganon
WW Link
Etc.
Plus, that Wolf art is fake.
As far as I know, Wolf is the only character who hasn’t been unlocked by anyone yet.

As someone who has been following this all day, the screenshot used in the post was faked to illustrate the characters that are expected. The most up to date legit screen of the roster is this one: http://ranobe.com/up/src/up254065.jpg and it seems that there is one more spot left and Wolf is expected to take that spot.

Like Cephas says that’s the characters that are expected when everyone is unlocked. This is the real one. http://ranobe.com/up/src/up254065.jpg. I’m thinking the last slot will be Krystal though since Fox already has a Wolf like colorway. That’s definitely not enough proof though. Gonna have to wait and see.

And also, think about it… they put all of the characters from the same franchise together… so why are Lucario and Jigglypuff out of the line of Pikachu and Pokemon Trainer?

^In response to Platinum, it is assumed that Wolf will go between Dedede and Lucario when he is unlocked (since that space is below Fox and Falco), which would shift everything over one space putting Lucario under Pokemon Trainer and Koopa under Peach

Its also assumed that there might be a third party character pushing the random box off the character select and making it a small bar underneath ROB, C.Falcon, and Olimar, but thats just speculation right now.

^muffinman not only have there been tons of screens but also lots of videos. If this is a hoax, it is the best hoax I have ever seen. Wait a moment; if this is the Japanese roster, shouldn’t be RUKARIO instead of Lucario, since that’s his actual spelling in Japanese?

Not necessarily. Rukario is transliteration of katakana… but R sounds in Japanese are actually closer to english Ls… which means it’s quite possible that the name was intended to be Lucario… Katakana is phonetic, and the two sound exactly the same in Japanese so either could technically be correct. It’s all down to the intent of the author/creator at that point…
For instance, if you were to write out the name Alice in katakana, and then convert it back into romanji… it’d come out as Arisu. That doesn’t mean it’s not supposed to be Alice though.

Far too many lame hangers-on from the previous games. Marth, Game and Watch as well as Ice Climbers shouldn’t have made the cut. I’m very intrigued by Lucario though.

This is a fake. if u go on the main site and check the character selection screen it had donkey kong, diddy kong, and zelda/sheik. on this one it only has donkey, diddy and zelda. i may be wrong though

@ Jerry: You can’t really tell by names, since Bowser/Koopa, and Jigglypuff/Purin are different in translation.
But something still seems…wrong… I thought they said they’d have another 3rd party character… unless they’re counting ROB or something… (which is an extremely bad idea for a character considering who they had to choose from)
