Nintendo Power teases once again

Now I know what you’re thinking…”Just another pathetic hint for a let down game”. True. Within the last few months Nintendo Power hasn’t really been the top source for big reveals, but their latest issue (August 2008) looks to be hiding a good old fashioned fanboy megaton. The new issue which covers Mad World, Castlevania Judgment, Fire Emblem DS, etc. promises a big reveal for next months v232. As if the above image wasn’t enough the staff goes on to poke fans in the eye…
We’ll kick off the next 20 years of Nintendo Power with more big reveals including a top-secret cover story fit for a king. It’s got a lot of heart. Just kidding. It’s Mother 3. Just kidding. Please look forward to it.
Hmm. This is obviously one of Nintendo’s big E3 announcements, because we won’t be receiving issue 232 until the beginning of August, but it gives us a major clue as to what we might see. Several franchises spring to mind including Kingdom Hearts, Fire Emblem, Kid Icarus, Zelda, and others.
Get to guessing! Only a little more than a week away!

Not sure why even was disappointed by the Castlevania DS reveal. That series has been spectacular on the DS.

^ Don’t get me wrong…Castlevania is a great series! It just wasn’t quite the type of game that we were expecting what with all the hype. Plus they were a whole month behind. By the time that “reveal” issue hit news stands we had already been given screens and developer interviews for that past month.
The point is that NP is sloooow.

Well it can’t be Kingdom Hearts, because Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days was announced for the DS almost a year ago at TGS.

I sure hope its not a new Zelda, cause that’s not the sci-fi sword I want. Its probably Kid Icarus.

@Jake: No. Considering they’re still sticking with Sony for the main FF series, at this point there’s no doubt in my mind that Squeenix will release KHIII as a PS3 exclusive. Of course, that could change in the future (I have no idea how), but with FFXIII and FFXIII: Versus still not out yet I don’t see why they would reveal their hand for Kingdom Hearts anytime soon.

I could see Kingdom Hearts 3 being a Wii title. After all, KH has appeared on the GBA so it’s not solely a Sony-exclusive.
But I dunno. I’ve stopped trying to figure out all of the rumors and teasing going around since E3 is just around the bend and I’ll just let the information hit my like a ton of beautiful, amazing bricks.

It could be Kingdom Hearts 358/2, seen as they pulled the exact same crap with Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World. It had been announced several months earlier as exisitng, then Nintendo Power hyped up this ‘Big Secret Exclusive Coming In The Next Issue’ essentially announcing that a US release was confirmed.
As for Zelda, well, any cursory Zelda fan could tell you that ain’t no Master Sword.

If I had to guess I would say that it’s probably a new Zelda or Kid Icarus game, despite the fact that the sword in the picture clearly doesn’t resemble Master Sword or the Dual Swordes, simply because theres been rumors of both.
However there are hundreds of video game series’ that center around swords. So the sword outline doesn’t help too much.
My personal hope is for a META KNIGHT game, since that sounds like it would be REALLY fun.

I’m pretty sure that particular sword silhouette is from Fire Emblem. Yay. Another Fire Emblem. Golly Gee Willickers. I can’t wait. Maybe the disk will work like a baseball card in the spokes of my bicycle….

Fire Emblem isn’t a popular enough series imho. Don’t get me wrong, I love the series (see: LOOOOOOOOVE), but the world isn’t collectively holding its breath for another FE.

I lol’d at the Lion King 2 comment.
I think it will either be KHIII or FE.
And at the NP sucks comments: It really has been getting better since Future US got ahold of it. I mean, there is less and less information that we have known for months on the internet.
It is almost Subscription worthy again, almost.

Thats not a Master Sword. Thats not one of the doubled-handed Pit Swords.. and definitely, thats not a Keyblade.
And even though, thats not a Vampire Killer.
