Rumor: Wii Fit “Plus” Sequel in Fall, Wii Sports Resort and Motion Plus on the way in Summer

GoNintendo is reporting rumored release dates on Wii Motion Plus, Wii Sports Resort, and something called “Wii Fit Plus” for July and November, respectively. The tip comes by way of GoNintendo reader Maxemillian_X, who snapped a covert shot of an upcoming release list in an Amsterdam game shop. We already knew Motion Plus and Wii Sports Resort was on it’s way – and July seems like a likely release date – but what about Wii Fit Plus? If this is real, are you interested in a sequel to Wii Fit – or is it too soon?

I have no idea whether or not this is fake, but assuming it is real – would I buy a WiiFit Plus? Depends. Obviously I don’t need another WiiBoard, but it might come with some other new accessory that would be rather interesting. Or perhaps it’s just the game itself (which it seems like it would from the picture), then again it would depend on what it offers. If it offers something very different, very unique from the original, then I might be interested in getting it. If it is only a rehash of what the original offered, then no, I wouldn’t get it.
I think there are still a ton of possibilities that Nintendo could pursue for a new WiiFit experience, and knowing how the Big N operates, that is what I would probably expect.
So, assuming this is real, it should be very interesting to see what comes of this.

I highly doubt we’re going to see a sequel to Wii Fit this soon. Could this be a minor change to Wii Fit? Kind of like how everyone thought Wii HD was coming out because there was a new barcode in a store inventory system, when it was just the Wii bundled with the grippy Wiimote jacket.
It’d be cool if Wii Fit Plus became the new Wii Play. If you want an extra Wiimote you buy Wii Play. If you want an extra Motion Plus you buy Wii Fit Plus.
Either way I’ll be excited to see a new Wii Fit. I’m a huge fan of Wii Fit and would love to see some additional exercises and games. Maybe some new running paths too

I would imagine Wii Fit Plus would be a continuation of the current Wii Fit, it’d just have more/new exercises to do.
