No surprise to see 3 Zelda games in there huh?

When you sort by users’ voting average at GameRankings, there are 4 Zelda titles in the top 6 alone for the GameCube (Twilight Princess, Collector’s Edition, Ocarina of Time / Master Quest, and Wind Waker). Critics seem very taken by Metroid Prime — it made #3 overall at GameRankings, which is hard as hell to do. Congrats to Retro; they really stuck it to the critics. ;)

The thing I don’t like about Metacritic is that their required amount of ratings is too low, so things like Madden end up in the mix… when they really don’t belong there. SSX 3 is a great sports title, though… probably the best.

For such a small library, the GameCube really delivered in terms of quality. It probably has the second best library in that regard (after the SNES). Let’s see if that carries over to the Wii…

Where the hell is Pikmin??!! :(

I am thrilled to see Metroid on tops. I agree fully; not so much about the others. I bought Viewtiful Joe, based on one of these lists and don’t see why it is top 10, except maybe for nice cartoonish graphics.

Absolutely no question about it, smash bros melee should be on that list, I don’t care what any of you say, that game is the best multiplayer game ever. Metroid, Zelda and the like are all superb games but my god they last ten hours and then thats it, try about 2000 hours clocked up on my melee records. Not forgetting it was the best selling game for the cube.
    MADNESS

yeah- that looks more like a ninny console than the wii’s scores do. we’ll need to check the wii scores in about a year though to really be fair.

Well, Super Smash Bros. Melee and Super Mario Sunshine both scored an average 92, and ranked #12 and #13, respectively, so that’s really impressive for an average!

And while I would love to have seen a Pikmin title in the top ten, I have to be realistic: that game is too original to be in the top ten average! Pikmin 2 is #24, while Pikmin is #27, with scores of 90 and 89, respectively.

To be fair, games that get the same score should rank equally for this type of list!

WOW. COMPLETE bias.I mean, Zelda Collector’s addition? There are only so many times you can play the old Zelda games. I can’t believe Smash Bros isn’t number one.

  9. KillerHeroes says...

Metroid Prime was absolutely amazing. I’m glad to see it on top.

  10. BlockSS says...

I hope Metriod Prime 3 : Corruption for Wii beats Hunters. the bar is setted high this time..

it just need co-op and also have online multiplayer and as an extra feature downloadable contents …..well for the extra I’m just asking a bit to much.
