It will most likely be going to the DS because Rare still puts out games for it and I dont think Nintendo would have the rights to put it out on the Wii and if they do ever put out a game on the Wii it needs to be more like Donkey Kong 64

Well, Poochy, Although I agree with you on the modern DK being the former DK Jr., I still don’t agree with your opinion that “If it’s in Brawl, it must be true” Why? BECAUSE KAPTAIN K ROOL IS NOT KING K ROOL’S BROTHER!

I really hope this game is made by a team that respects the characters, unlike Nintendo Tokyo whom replaced all the characters we know and love from the Rare games with annoying and non-charming knock ofs (Such as the Kiss Kongs and the Animal Buddies) because they “werent fresh enough” (Despite the fact that they pretty much humped Mario 3, a game that came years before DKC, in Mario Galaxy.

Aside from Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic 360, Sonic hasn’t strayed that far from it’s roots—at least, no more than Mario ever did.

2D FTW! Glad to see they learned from DK64 that not every title has to go to 3D or stray from its original roots to be good *glares at Sonic*.

Truthfully if it were merely Donkey Kong Country but on a new platform I’d be thrilled. Hopefully Nintendo won’t screw it up and force me to have to buy the SNES games to remember Donkey Kong doesn’t suck.

In fact, look no further than the original Donkey Kong Country for proof that the series’ protagonist isn’t the same DK that fought Mario.

Dave L: *sigh* Super Smash Brothers Brawl set the record straight once and for all, and STILL there are people that don’t get it.

Rare’s DK is not the original character known as Donkey Kong as created by Shigeru Miyamoto in 1980. He is his grandson. Original DK = Cranky Kong. It used to be that you could argue about this point, but Brawl set the record straight once and for all. The current DK (the one that has a buddy named Diddy, the one that is used in every new DK game) is not a “baddy” and I don’t foresee Nintendo using that character as a villain for quite some time as he is still popular as a hero character.

Sounds good. I hope they take the chance to start remodelling DK back towards the old Nintendo style and not the Rare version of DK we see today. Also, he looks too stupid and needs to be a bit angrier – he is a ‘baddy’ after all, and Mario’s original nemesis.

I also think Nintendo will announce SNES Super Mario Kart at E3 – except it will be online. Hopefully they won’t tinker with anything else.

I’m sure they will let you choose if it works for the game. the bongos in jungle blast was sweet though. I can only imagine what they can pull off on the Wii though. How ever you play it I’m sure it will be sweet since the bongos helped spark the DS and the Wii.
