I really liked the first one, I got used to the controls, took me a while to adjust, but once you're "in" the controls are fine. I will surely buy the 2nd one as well. Unless they really miss the point this time. As well as the motion+ thing. I'm a real sucker for nintendo gadget add-on lol.

I'm not sure what Red Steel has to make up for, all of the disappointment and expectation was in your heads.

I really enjoyed the original Red Steel so I'm pleased to see a sequel on the way. :)

i didn't think red steel was all that bad for a launch title. but they seriously could address all issues with this sequel. looking forward to it. i hope they put the time into this title and don't rush it.

I'm really getting tired of the gaming press. It's really getting annoying. Before they where cool because they talked about stuff I wanted to know now I feel like their room mate and I get to see how whiny they really are. I'm sorry I don't respect that.

Any way red steel should be good now. We can even have 2 on 2 battles... why because if F'ing Wii sports can do it why can't red steel? Also I hope the buy the quantum engine to be used on this game. The UT engine was ok but it did not impress and online did not work. Hell lots of stuff did not work.

yeah i agree with robbie it wasn't the best, but it wasn't that bad for the first generation of games. this one looks to only improve on what was for me a pretty good game. so here's hoping...

I really enjoyed the original game and I can't see why so many people complain so much about it.
Granted it wasn't perfect, but it sure was a helluva lot of fun. There haven't been many "fun" FPS games as a lot of them take themselves too serious.
It's good being able to play a game where you can just shoot all types of ill shit.
If this plays even slightly better then the original I'd still pick it up on Day One.

@Joltman: First off, I agree. Second, as Dark Knight and Terminator 2 have shown, the sequel sometimes bests the original. I hope that's the case with Red Steel, especially now that Ubisoft won't be rushing to get it out in time for a system launch (as it admits it did with Red Steel in the linked interview in this post).

Also, I like the re-release idea. I think Red Steel, tweaked and with MotionPlus controls this time around, would be a nice bonus game to include alongside Red Steel 2. By giving it away for free alongside the sequel, they'd guarantee additional sales, as people new and old to the series would buy it for a variety of reasons. For $50.

Ubisoft really needs to make up for the gigantic disappointment that was Red Steel.
Those controls were so sluggish and horrible, and while they now have MotionPlus to get the sword-fighting aspect down well, you just need everything else tweaked and made better.
And maybe a suggestion could be made to Ubisoft to re-do Red Steel to apologize to gameplayers everywhere?
