Just some context for Derek’s classic “When there aren’t any asses left to kick, why not kick your own?” post from this morning…
Apparently 29 of the top 40 games sold in Britain last week were for Nintendo consoles, including the entire top 10. I dare say it’s a nice spread of titles too, with the usual Nintendo chart toppers topping the chart as usual.
And we’re talking about July here, folks, JULY! (click image to maximize)

Hey buddies, I love Nintendo, there is not much to say besides I loved Gamecube and Windwaker…I am a happy gamer.
I still can’t get over how much money Nintendo is making with Wii Play. It’ s no wonder Wii Sports Resort is going to be packed with The Motion Plus. It’ll be the same thing all over again.
And wow, Brain Training (i.e. Brain Age) is STILL in the top 10. Can there really be any more people who don’t already have this game?
LOL@buzzquiz TV for the PS3! It begins! When you start seeing games like this on the list more start appearing. After all that bleeding on the HD systems I bet more will start making shovel ware for the PS3 and xbox 360. Don’t let ubisoft see this or it over for the PS3!
The God of gaming has smiled upon Nintendo this generation….Geez..lol
And that’s not even a fraction of the story. Nintendo platforms are now outselling all others on a weekly basis in all of Europe and even in OZ. There are only a few countries where Wii isn’t doing well and even then DS is the leading platform. And to make it sound even more absurd: Wii and DS sell around 300,000-450,000 units a week even during a dead zone month like July. This is simply not normal by any imagination. Sean Malstrom is going to have a field day with this when he comes back from vacation.
yet developers still think they should make the big games for ps3 and 360,
i am pretty they can pump better graphics, but there is to gaming more than graphics
maybe this explains why mario kart wii sold more than army of two
Brain Age’s good sales are likely tied to the sales of new DSes. People just getting a DS for the first time are grabbing a copy of that too. It proves the broad appeal and timelessness of the concept.
It definitely has aged very well.
Wow that is just disgusting. Imagine if that happened over here in the US.
