Poll – Wii, DS, Both, Neither?

Something that the Wii and DS don’t exploit enough is the interoperability of the two systems. Sure, you can download some demos from your Wii to your DS and a few games support using the DS to control a game on your Wii. The upcoming Ghostbusters game for Wii will apparently will not feature the use of a DS as a PKE meter. Why not do this sort of thing more often? Maybe there aren’t enough people who own both systems, so this week we’re curious:
Which systems do you own?

The Ghostbusters thing is too bad… why not make it optional? Like when you could hook up your Gameboy Advance to the Gamecube in The Windwaker as an optional tool for Tinkle to help you out, etc. Or how about if you have the DS Ghostbusters game (I assume there will be one), then you can unlock the DS as a PKE meter?
Smells like a bit of laziness to me.

While I agree that they should be integrating the DS into Wii games more, I don’t agree with the PKE meter, which sounds like a low-impact hack. I also wasn’t a huge fan of the Windwaker/GBA connection – it was clumsy with one player and with two, the one wielding the GBA had far less fun (like the second players in Mario Galaxy).
I’m surprised that there haven’t been games released for Wii that depend on private game controls for multiplayer games. Card games and strategy games, for examples, would be played on the big screen AND the small screens simultaneously. The single player version would be entirely on the big screen so there’s no lost value for those few Wii owners without DS’s.
Looking at the success of UNO on XBOX Live makes me pretty confident that Uno, played with Wii and four DS’s would be a smash hit. It should, obviously, be wiiware.

how bout a pac man championship edition with features like pac man vs.?

@Streetx
I was just thinking about Pac Man Vs.
I think that was one of the most unique 4 player party games I’ve ever played, thanks mostly to the way you used the GBA. I would love to see something like this done with the Wii and the DS. And of course it would be wireless so you could avoid the one problem that PM Vs. had – getting your cables all tangled up.

i think the ds is way better than wii there is more variety of games and on wii it is a waste of money for something completley useless buy a ds and not a wii.

Wow! The poll results are surprising.
Its a shame that Nintendo shied away from the connectivity possibilities since the ‘cube/GBA days. It sucks because Wii and DS are so much easier to connect, no cables required.

Sorry to double post, buuuuut…
Did any of you know that you can use the iPhone as keyboard for the Apple TV. Wouldn’t that be sweet if you could use the DS as a keyboard in Wii games. This wouldn’t work if the Wii was connected to the Web via WiFi (2 simultaneous WiFi connections does not work so good) but it could still be very useful.

Microsoft, Sony and Apple jumped into interconnectivity for their handhelds and consoles/monitors/computers right from the get-go… I have no idea why Nintendo didn’t, especially since they started it with the GameCube/GameBoy Advance…
So much potential… wasted!
Anyway, one thing I’d really like to see is using the Wii as a Wi-Fi hub for my DS… You know, as a gateway to connect to the Wi-Fi instead of using my computer, and as a way to see who’s playing what on the DS.
