Now that GameStop, Sam’s Club, Best Buy, Nintendo World Store, and other retailers will be having midnight launches at some of their stores, we want to know:
Are you buying Super Smash Bros Brawl at midnight launch?
Yea I said no, because there will be no stores open at 12:00 am lol. No eb games, no walmart, no bestbuy, nadda. I have it preordered and I have never had a preorder sell out on me so I am just going to go over casually after work buy it THEN rush home like a maniac and play till my eyes bleed. bleedy bleedies.
Even if there was a midnight launch I wouldn’t do it… I will get it some time during the first couple of weeks after the launch, and I’m sure there won’t be a shortage.
C’mon, guys… It’s not as if this was a Halo sequel!!
I’m not buying it exactly. Turns out the old lady got me a pre-order slip as a V-day present. (BEST WIFE EVAR!) Anyway, I will be headed down to the local Gamestop to pick up my copy.
Better question: who’s participating in the tourney? I just can’t wait to get home with mine, so I’m not. I think you need to show up at 9 PM and then you get locked in until the release time.
Stores aren’t allowed to sell it before a certain date, so the earliest they can sell it is midnight. And because of the risk that they would loose the first customers to other stores they have midnight launches. Earliest seller gets first customers. And with this much anticipation its a no brainer…
There is something exciting about standing in line with fellow gaming enthusiasts and discussing the industry, games, platforms…then being able to immediately grab the game and take it home for an all-nighter with friends.
I wish GameStop would do more of these, actually, and make a bigger deal of them (have refreshments, maybe, activities, etc.).
My store isn’t doing the midnight launch or the tournament. We were slated for the tourney but corporate pulled our store at the last second. Jackasses.
Anyway, I’ve got mine all paid off already at my store, so no midnight launch for me. ):
No, because there won’t be any down here in Brazil. And even though the game is available for pre-order, I’m NOT paying 150 dollars for it. So no Brawl at launch for me.
I orderedmine online from gamestop.com. It’s coming via overnight shipping! I’ll start a day later than everyone, but I was going to be busy launch date anyway.
I bought mine for $15 off retail back when Dell Computers had a deal on (early november)…that is if the cd will fit in with the layer of dust forming onj the bottom of the cd slot, haha no, but really it will be since christmas since I have played it
I’ll be getting Brawl at midnight launch, but not sure if I want to bother sticking around for its tournament or just head home and go play with some of my other impatient friends.
I said no, but now I’m going. I get out of Wal-Mart at midnight that day (but most likely I will be getting out early). So I can definitely head over there after I get out. I probably won’t enter the tournament, but I hope I can watch. If not, I will play the crap out of it with friends in the morning.
Unless I get one hell of a discount for waiting, I wouldn’t go. Not that I’m going anyway, since I preordered it. It’s kinda funny, we were waiting “forever” and now it’s only less than a week away. Sooner than it felt, isn’t it? Anyway, have fun, fellow pre-orderians. =P
The gamestop near my house isn’t having a midnight launch. They instead said they would open at 9:00. Just as well I suppose.
You left out an option. I have it preordered, so I can go get it at my leisure. I am too old for midnight launches!
I would… but my mom wouldn’t take me… /cry
but I’ve already pre-ordered it and I’ve payed it off. w00t!
already pre-ordered. plus i won’t be near the gamestop i preordered at until late that afternoon.

(Oh, SNAP!)
On behalf of Europe… Why oh why are you doing this to us!!! If you prick us do we not bleed? *cries*
Seriously though i am so jealous of you guys right now
@cdondanville – your answer then would be no!

No but because there are no such things as midnight launches here in Mexico. Still, you can bet I’m going to be getting this ASAP.
What’s the point of a midnight launch? To play the game all night?

Midnight launches are awesome.

Everyone forgets to mention Gamecrazy.

like most people here, i pre-ordered it. CAN’T WAIT!!!
I would do if it were actually coming out here BEFORE AUTUMN!!! damn you Nintendo Europe and your evil ways

My EB isn’t having a midnight launch, unfortunately.
I’ll be there early Sunday morning, though.

GameCrazy is having tournaments and prizes and giveaways starting at 8PM, then they start selling at midnight.
I’m totally going!
I´m European so I have to wait a few months.

I didn’t pre-order one, so I guess I’ll try.
