They’re two of the biggest game publishers, they both have the hottest music games out right now, and to be fair, they both do a their own share of shovelware production. This week, we want to know:
Which company do you like better?
Tell us why in comments and check out the results on the next Infendo Radio!

This was a difficult one: neither company is my favorite (my current favorite is Atlus, as I keep repeating here…).
But I’ll have to go with EA, since it was my favorite back in the 80′s… and Rock Band is just so much better than Guitar Hero!
(By the way, David, why these two in particular?)
There should be a third choice that reads.
-> stab yourself in the eyes.
I’m in for stabbing myself in the eyes.
The only game I buy from either company is Burnout. I like Criterion; EA not so much. Last gen, Activision had a few decent games, like Spider-Man 2 and the first X-Men Legends. After those games, their games went downhill. The camera in Marvel Ultimate Alliance Wii swung in circles so much that I started feeling sick.
@ InvisibleMan – because they’re (to me at least) so similar.
EA, due to sports games (Madden, NHL, etc.)
I loved Activision games – way back in the days of the Atari2600. They made some of the best games for that system. But, since then, I’ve not had much interest in any of their games.
So I’ll agree with Ninja and say EA for their sports games. I don’t own a lot of EA sports games, but I don’t think I own any Wii/GC/PC Activision games.
Activision hand down. EA has given me poopski efforts ever since the wii came out. They are getting better mind you but they have a big distance to cover.
EA b/c of Madden, SSX and Mirror’s Edge. I have no need for Guitar Hero.
I love hearing everyone complain about how crappy EA titles are.
True, EA has their fair share of misses — but they have also managed to bring us Boom Blox, The Godfather: Blackhand Edition, Madden, Medal of Honor: Heroes 2, MySims, Rock Band (even if it is a gimped version), and Tiger Woods. All good games, although they won’t appeal to all audiences.
Activision, on the other hand, has brought out Guitar Hero and a veritable mountain of licensed shit. Seriously, are there any Activision games worth playing other than Guitar Hero? I searched, but came back empty-handed.
And the winner is… quality and diversity, instead of one extremely popular game. EA gets my vote.
i don’t know i couldn’t even vote on either of them at this point. if you mean overall from the beginning of time to now then EA, but if you mean as of now this generation neither.
umm… neither?
@ ejamer
licensed shit? what like the Godfather, FIFA (always obsolete in plenty of time for next Novembers edition) the feculant Simpsons game which I unfortunately received as a gift (an utterly broken rushed-out POS), Harry Potter, their awful treatment of 007 which resulted in them losing the license, Tiger Woods etc etc.
I have to go with EA simply because i own more EA games than Activision games.
Activision is the lesser of two evils.
Oh NOeS, EA fans! Activision is winning! Maybe Rock Band really isn’t–*gasp*–”lol better than gutair hero”.
and thinking about it, Activision don’t feel the need for yearly press releases saying “sorry we’re a joke, folks; yes, we’ve been trotting out shitty games…but we’re gonna change.. honest..!”
Case closed, I think
Nobody’s mentioned how EA treats their employees? I think you need to consider that they work their employees 12 hours a day, 7 days a week at prime crunch time, which, mind you, is almost the entire development process. And, they get no overtime and barely any comp time for it.
My vote is quite clear at this point.
