Ocarina of Time 3D deserves an orchestrated score

I’ve fallen in love with the music from Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2, and I eagerly anticipate Skyward Sword’s orchestrated score. It seems that ever since Super Smash Bros. Brawl, it’s been a trend to have soundtracks written and performed for a symphony orchestra. Ocarina of Time has one of the most thrilling soundtracks in the history of Nintendo, so why not take things a step further in it’s remake? The game’s atmosphere could become so much thicker and richer than it already is.

You think those DS speakers are up to such a task? I don’t. But that’s why I hope to see some orchestrated familiar themes in Skyward Sword. And then I hope someone will sell the soundtrack.

Also: I want the soundtracks to both Mario Galaxies for $5 each on Amazon or something. Game-rips are nice and all, but hearing game SFX can often ruin it for me.

I’m more worried about having enough cartridge space, really. That’s the only thing I see holding it back.

If it would sound good, I couldn’t agree more!

make a petition infendo.. do it.
Its technically possible, cart space is likely to be 2GB+ plenty for a low bit-rate mp3, or even more efficient format, especially considering soundtracks are actually pretty short loops.

  5. Mohan says:

Yeah Infendo you should make a petition!

That would be one of the most awesome things ever. It’s up there with sliced bread. Make a petition and we will all sign it.

I think the guys are ZREO would love to hear an orchestrated score for it. I know I would.

Daaaammn…. Ocarina of Time looks sexy on that handheld… Imagine the designs of the new locales, like the market and the temple of time… And a new Malon and a new Saria… (Drools)
Wait. We were talking about orchestrated scores?

I thought about making a petition as I was writing this article. Then I realized I couldn’t think of an event where a petition has ever been effective, ever.

I’m not saying it will work but here are some examples …..http://www.care2.com/c2c/groups/disc.html?gpp=155&pst=482131

Didn’t Family Guy get canceled and brought back via petition?

If they can petition for more family guy why not petition for an orchestrated soundtrack for OoT. I’m completely for it!

AS much as I think the ZREO reorchestrations of Ocarina of Time arre good, will the 3DS even be able to support orchestrated music? Like we know the graphics are being upped to the Wii level, but is the music? Probably, but you should first find out, before you start saying should OoT 3DS support it.

The N64 would have been capable of it if it weren’t for ROM restrictions. Having said that, utilising high efficiency audio compression on N64 would have been extremely challenging while running a game at the same time. The 3DS wouldn’t suffer much for this, and almost certainly contains some type of hardware codec in its design as well.
