Nintentunes: The only place to get your classic Nintendo music fix!

It’s that time again! Hope you’re ready for this weeks edition of Nintentunes, it’s a good one! Be sure to let Infendo know what you think of this weeks music, and perhaps tell us about your personal favorites!

NES- Air Fortress

Air Fortress was the first game I owned from developer Hal Laboratories, a game Produced by Nintendo President Satoru Iwata. The game featured a pretty fantastic soundtrack with cool jetpack platforming to boot. If you can find a copy, give this game a shot. It’s tough, but worth the investment to master it.

SNES- Contra III: The Alien Wars

If you rented Contra III from the video store back in the day, chances are it took you multiple 3-day rental periods to beat it. At least it did for me. I’m sure I could have bought it three times over with the rental money I spent on the thing. The game’s soundtrack was great and complemented the game’s futuristic setting well.

N64- Paper Mario

My favorite Mario spin-off titles are the ones with RPG elements such as Paper Mario. Platforming is great and all, but the wacky stories that the Mario RPG games tell are just terrific. Oh, and the music wasn’t too bad either.

Gamecube-Dance Dance Revolution Mario Mix

Can’t say that DDR was ever my thing, but I could listen to the Nintendo-themed remixes from Mario Mix over and over. If dance music is your thing, you may enjoy the tunes from the Gamecube’s first DDR title.

Wii- Donkey Kong Country Returns

You got to hand it to Retro, they really have become one of Nintendo’s top developers. One of last year’s stand out titles across all platforms was Donkey Kong Country Returns, and judging by the build available at E3 of Mario Kart 3DS it looks like they have another hit on their hands. Here’s hoping they can do for Mario Kart what they did with the fantastic Wii Donkey Kong title.
