Nintendo to “license” Nintendo Power to second-party publisher

The good news — given Nintendo Power’s venerable history and recent editorial improvements — is that the mag will live on despite recent rumors suggesting otherwise. Nintendo spin queen Perrin Kaplan coughed up some details in speaking with Game Informer saying that NP will “remain a magazine” only it will be licensed to another publisher under Nintendo’s ownership and presumable direction. “Details forthcoming” she adds.
What does this mean to subscribers and Ninty fans alike? Probably not much. Expect the same content with just a behind the scenes change, nothing more. Given this month’s primo issue, I’m happy to hear it.

Ah, the ‘Nintendo Power is shutting down’ rumor is finally debunked. I am relieved to hear it

Maybe this is related to Nintendo Power coming to the Wii as a new channel… now they have a lot of writers and reviewers to make this Virtual magazine work…
