Nintendo Spotting – Banjo-Kazooie still loves the N64

Tuesday, July 8th, 2008 at 11:10pm by Jake

I\'m BANJO!

This little easter egg can be seen during the beginning cutscene of the upcoming Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts for the Xbox 360. We’ve seen in the past that Rare still shows it’s love for past platforms, but it’s nice to know this little N64 will be permanent in the final game…at least I hope so.

Rare couldn’t even make a real game anymore, so who gave a crap about how they are now pretend to show some Nintendo loves. I am offended, if anything else. Hell, Miyamoto trusted Rare with DK, Square with Mario, and what happened? Yea that’s right, up yours, Rare.

^ Dude, chill. Rare did pretty good with DK, and they’re making a turn around with the new Banjo title. Yes they’ve had their ups and downs, but what developer hasn’t?

It has been a while since Rare has put out a decent game, I’ll grant you that.

I’m very hyped for this game; can’t wait! This game is a make-or-break ultimatum deal for me — if it fails. I’m done with Rare. It’s over for them. They’ve lost all their charm. If it succeeds superbly, then I will have their support again.

    Pretty good Easter Egg.
But still, BK:N&B changed radically the essence of Banjo Kazooie games. I think they thrashed the franquise very unwisely.

B-K is my LAST hope for Rare… they’ve effed up every other franchise… this is the last straw… and already, the games almost looks like TOO much of a deviation.

Man, I seriously wish this would come on a Nintendo platform. It would sell a lot better there.

hmm when was the last time they put out a game cause i havent heard anything about them since the n64

DKC is great. The first 2 are very outstanding with the 3rd one being a bit lacking. Wii need more, wii need more!

I am surprised that so far no one (especially on a Nintendo loving site) hate this game as much as I am. Ok, remember Donkey Kong Racing way back when the cube was launched? OOOOh, now you understand how this piece of trash that is known now as Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts come to be. Whoever think this game is anything but another lame and uncreative abomination from Rare is a freaking tool.
You want some very recent yet similar trashwares from Rare? Search: Banjo Pilot, Kameo: Elements of Power, and of course, the stupidest of them all: Perfect Dark: Zero

Once Goldeneye was finished (and people started walking) Rare were practically on an uphill battle, on life support by Nintendo. I think that Nintendo understood this and decided that they’d rather go for the cash, while there remains some talent at Rare I don’t think that we are going to see them making AAA games anymore though, particularly with how Microsoft is playing them as second fiddle to their more grittier titles.

Sad really, I guess it was inevitable.

Viva Piñata was addictive as hell and wicked fun. I loved Kameo to death and it gave me a zelda-ish feel. I thought conker: L&L was gorgeous and fun too. Perfect Dark Zero sucked a lot though. Rare is still a great publisher, but just for a different console.

Still, see how the N64 has all the cables around it as if it was old and not in use? And Kazooie is using the 360.

I tried finding a copy of the original N64 game but had no luck. I had it but it must have been lost when I moved to my new place. Still have Banjo-Tooie…
