Nintendo says “No Black Wii for North America”

According to an article engadget put up earlier today. Nintendo has announced that they will not be bringing over the Black Wii and that it is a Japan only exclusive. They even have a quote from a Representative from Nintendo that has said…
“There is no plans to have other colors of the Wii in the United States.”
Well doesn’t that just suck. Was anyone anticipating picking up a colored Wii, or were you all content with your white one that is gathering dust and getting dirty?

I love my Wii as it is, but the black Wii sounds so awesome.

I like my White Wii, but I would buy a black one so I could have it in the basement and put the White one on my wifes TV so she could do Wii Fit and EA Sports Active on her TV.
I think when they say “there are no plans” for a black wii in NA, what they are really saying is, “We won’t sell a black Wii in NA until demand for the white ones starts to sag like it was in Japan”.

Anyway, I would have bought the white Wii if given another choice, but the black one is nice and it’s a shame they don’t bring it over here.

black one would be cool, but I already have the white one and have no intent to buy a new one, thanks tho.

As sexy as the black Wii looks.. I just have to look at my black DS Lite and how good it is at collecting and accentuating dust and fingerprints.

TBH why does it matter? yes we all know Nintendo used to do colors, but really… you walk into any games store and look at the consoles… PS3 – would you like black, black or black? 360 would you like sliver, silver or silver? (yes i know there is now black as well, but what ev) honestly… do you really need more colors? YOU ALL READY OWN IT. live with the white, it looks just fine and it works just the same, good fun.

This is good for Nintendo because the whole Apple White craze was overrated. Good to see some traditional technology colors.

Black shows off dust too much. PS3 look horrible next to a 360 in a house with typical cleaning conditions (dust every month or so).

I would buy a black Wii in a heartbeat, but not having the option is certainly not a deal breaker for me. I love my Wii too much.

It is really fun how a web site like infendo complains about other wanting money when they make multipage articles in order to maximize hits for money….
So does this make you evil? Take nintendo a huge company that has to keep making money in order to pay their people. Yes they have money in the bank but R&D is not magical you have to pay for it.
Stop with the greed thing ok it is just lame.
