Nintendo Power: Next Month’s secret

This is the teasing image Nintendo Power readers were given in the “Next Month” section of the mag. They say the above image contains clues to a “big” title that will be revealed next month. More clues were found in the “Pulse” section where a reader asks what games the staff is looking forward to the most. Their answer…
“We know of a few big third-party titles already, but unfortunately we’re sworn to secrecy. We’ll be able to fill you in on one of those games next month, though - and it’s a shocker!”
Is the answer referring to the moon image, or are they talking about other secret titles? First, or Third Party? Either way the interwebs have exploded with speculation on what game the image is referring to. The top picks include

STARCRAFT. It totally makes sense with the picture, and the dude said it was going to be shocker. Maybe that’s just something he said, but none of those other games would be terribly shocking. Think how awesome that would be if Starcract came to the wii. Using the wii remote would get a little tiring, but it’s an awesome PC game that the Wii could actually handle.

On second thought, I think it’s definitely Harvest Moon. That’s what a harvest moon looks like, and it totally makes sense. Harvest Moon Wii with all kinds of online crap and what not.

@Peder: Oh how I’d wish they did that. I’m one of the few who liked FF8 the best out of that era.

Maybe I’m looking too far in to it, but there’s an outline in roughly the center of the moon that resembles Jill from Drill Dozer. Look specifically for the over sized head and round pig tails.

maybe they’re telling us that the answer is on the moon, and we’ll never get it unless we learn to actually get to it.
that or… somehting to deal with obscurity, and the game should be taken seriously, maybe it’s a brain using game, based off of one of the main franchises

As I posted in the forums, there is already a Harvest Moon coming out for Wii very shortly. I don’t know if it classifies as a “shocker” either considering Marvelous Interactive pumps them out at the same rate Nintendo pumps out Mario Party.

I feel sad every time I read something about Nintendo Power, I loved that magazine and was a subscriber for many years until Future US took over.
I have no idea what “shocking” game(s) they might be referring to that everybody hasn’t already guessed at. Maybe an IGN logo is hidden in that image like on the Okami cover? Haha…

Actually it’s a stereograph (4D) picture, and if you stare at it long enough it will spell out the new game (remake) that is coming out, and let me tell you, you are not going to believe it.

Anyone else thinking it’s gonna just end up just like Tales of Symphonia?
I’ll bet that whatever the secret is, it’ll be something already announced and hardly a huge surprise just like ToS was, and developed by Sega and crappified by a rush to market just like Nights was.
Either way the fact that there’s a clue implies that the franchise is guessable, and the fact that it’s a franchise implies that it’s a sequel, and the fact that it’s on a Nintendo platform implies one of two things:
1) It’s made by Nintendo and will be awesome, although predictable.
2) It’s made by a 3rd party and has an 85% chance of turning out crap and ruining a fond memory.
My heart wants it to be neither, but my brain tells me it’s gonna happen all over again.
Oh, and my dream of this secret: An re-edited version of Twighlight Princess with the story back to front (tension increasing rather than decreasing), and puzzles that intelligently integrate all the weapons together, and proper characterisation and quirks on all the ancillary characters, to finally remake tLoZ:TP as the greatest game ever.

I think we can scratch off Harvest moon, as it has already been announced for Wii, as well as Pokemon because that would be expected. I would guess at Earthbound, but I see a shape near the center on the right half that looks like Pit from Kid Icarus.

The moon, Zelda Majora mask, a Zelda game made for Wii and not a ported GameCube, I mean by late 2008 early 2009 we will be approaching the half way point of a consoles 4-7 year lifespan, depending on how long Wii wants to go.

Lunar Knights for the Wii?
Not a fan of Boktai, but it seems like an obvious possibility. I’d personally love for it to be a Majora’s Mask remake (since the moon seems kinda big.) I would say whoever guessed Harvest Moon probably nailed it, except that in no sense has Harvest Moon ever been a “big” title in the press.

When I looked at it, I thought immediately: “That’s no Moon, that’s a Death Star.”
I then looked at it some more, and thought it sort of looked like a Pokeball, which, given the fact this moon is sorta gold-shaped, indicated to me the long rumored Pokemon Gold/Silver remake.

Doesn’t the left side sorta resemble comet from FFVII? Maybe not… That’s definately not a moon, that’s the D…NVM
