Nintendo hasn’t been this quiet about its game lineup for 10 years

Or so says one analyst in speaking to Reuters on Thursday.
“I’ve been covering this company since 1999. I’ve never been so unaware of what their big year-end titles are at this point in the year,” Credit Suisse analyst Jay Defibaugh said.
They sure have everyone guessing these days, don’t they?

Well, they did say a few months ago that they didn’t want to announce games to early because the hype dies off. So I am expecting a few megaton announcements for games to be released in the Sept-Nov window.

Probably has to do with Iwata’s new strategy of announcing games 3-6 months before the release.
Rythm Tengoku (April/July)
Band Bros. DX (April/June)
WarioLand: Shake It (May/July)
Mystery Case Files: MillionHeir (May/July)
Captain Rainbow(July/September)
All announced and releasing in a time span of three-six months(Japan).

I’m hoping DK Country Wii, Kid Icarus Wii, Professor Layton & Pandora’s Box for DS will all be announced!

I am really liking the fact that they’re being very hush-hush about everything. It makes E3 even more exciting. I may actually try and watch the press conference live this year, if it fits in with my schedule.
I can’t wait to hear what crazy megaton they’re gonna drop on us this year (and I’m hoping it’s not that “Captain Rainbow” garbage).

well e3 is like 2 months later than it normally is (may) so this time last year we’d already had E3, what a stupid bit of analysis.

They’re behaving more like Apple. In Apple’s case, Steve announces something, and if it’s not available in the shops straight away, it’s only a couple of month’s off.

i think its a good thing. after all im hyped about conduit now but by the time it comes out (if) i will be over it.
doing business this way maintains hype and public interest, as well as giving your developers more room to breathe if theres a problem in development.
i just hope they make improvments to the Online service because lets face it, of the major consoles the Wii Online is the weakest in general.
also just finished mario galaxy (like 20 mins ago) give me another one lol.

I don’t think Nintendo needs to remind us how well they are doing this time around. Everyone knows they are doing very well.
I expect this E3 will be more about fulfilling promises and megaton software.

@ anonymous: I have to agree with that. It’d be pretty conceited to show another lame montage about how successful Nintendo has been, though don’t be surprised to see a Wii Fit one.

a successor to the Virtual Boy. A third pillar to the Wii and DS. This time around it’s all red AND blue! With 4 eye ports and launches with Nesters Funky Fooseball. Confirmed.

Ha ha ha. Another Virtual boy, of coarse what a brilliant idea. The only problem with being a successor to something is that it requires success in the first place. Luckily Nintendo learns from their mistakes too much to let that happen again.
This hushup must mean that Nintendo has alot of great stuff up their sleeves. I have my fingers crossed for another DS, except this time both it’s screens are PSP sized and both are touch sensitive instead of just one. And can detect 2 points of pressure, as well as tilting. And with gamecube level graphics.
That’s probably way too much to expect, but whatever IS coming will be good, I can feel it in my nose.

We are going to be blown away. Who knows with what, but it will be an impressive show. Microsoft and Sony have to be terrified.
