i'm fine with the announcement and i loved tp, so no sweat off my back. just like it was noted above Oot had it's majora's mask. i'm also fine with the difficulty of the games as well. some complain they are too easy not realizing they have become better gamers and evolved over time. younger gamers should still be able to access a zelda title like i did in 87' and feel comfortable playing it too. it's not fair that a new generation is cut out of a beloved series so you can feel challenged.

my nephew loved tp and was his indrotduction into the series, but he still needed his dad's help to solve certain sections. i think they are on par with the games of the past. i could beat most of the original on my own at the time, but still needed my older cousin's help for difficult puzzles or hidden items. for those of us that have been around for awhile and seen many zelda titles just keep in mind they are trying to keep the same feeling alive for all generations, which means for someone new to the series to experience those feelings they sometimes have to rehash old ideas.

As long as they make it more difficult than recent Zelda games. The series has gotten too easy for my tastes, which is disappointing IMO.

Well Ocarina of Time had its Majora's Mask so I think the difference will pretty much be the same.

I surely don't mind. While TP wasn't as great as OoT and WW due to it's lack of radicalism, it was just as good; people don't think of it that way, as there wasn't a change to make it emorable".

That, however, lies within your mind, as it was a change of outfit and nothing more.

I'd be extremely surprised if all we got was another version of Twilight Princess, or anything close really.

What makes a great game great is the new territory it explores, the new standards it sets. Ocarina of Time was great because it was in 3D, and established so many new fundamental gaming aspects (z-targeting, archery, horseback riding, ect.) Twilight Princess is not remembered in the same vein because, while it was a fine game, it did not break very many barriers.

To be fair, though, it must be extremely tough for Miyamoto (or anyone) to answer these types of questions, especially since Nintendo isn't going to give anything important away.

If he said "I don't think it's going to be that radically different," that doesn't necessarily mean we won't see a highly innovative addition to the Zelda series, but it probably means we won't see something like Zelda-in-space-dancing-with-the-stars-while-riding-space-ponies.

We might as well just wait until the game comes out to see how it's really going to be.
