This week’s new release list is a little overwhelming and underwhelming at the same time. Out of nearly fifty games coming out this week, there might be three worth anyone’s interest.  Possible winners on the DS list are Away: Shuffle Dungeon and Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia.  The only choice pick for Wii is Wii Music which ships on the 20th. I will note that there is a game coming out for Wii this week called Circus Games, which I recently mused about on Infendo Radio 122.

Head on past the break for the full list.

Please stop beating on Wii Music so bad…if we continue doing that, we are no better than the 360 fanboys who spend 99% of their time griping about Blue Ocean. I would have thought that as Nintendo fans we would have at least begun to appreciate that they are going to put out a game that isn’t for the hardcore every once in a while. Intelligent is right up there in your slogan, but it seems that a lot of people on this site have suddenly turned on the business practice that they have defended for so long.

Just my two cents. I still love Infendo, keep up the great work!

i’m getting wii music. should be a good time. and that is the whole point.

  3. Used Cisco says:

Surprisingly, Wii music is getting some great reviews. I have no intention of buying it but I respect Nintendo’s choice to try to attract a broader audience. I think if they had stayed focused on the hardcore, this gen might have been their last for hardcore. You can’t blame a company for making a decision to save their future.

Anyway, this list of releases is so full of poop, I feel like I need to change it’s diaper. Not much here to look at, at all.

  4. Ben says:

Castlevania for DS! and thats it

  5. Jamie says:

Certainly Spiderman for me on Wii, especially if the controls are similar to that of Spiderman 3, Wii Music will be a rent first, won’t be buying it till we get a low price on it. I’ve always been a fan of Spyro so I may pick that up as a rental as well. Huge list though, some great shovel-ware going on there! lol

  6. Joshdad says:

Pass the Pigs is an awesome game (I mean the real thing). If the DS version is anything like the real game, then it might be worth a real consideration.
Spiderman (for both systems) is another game that I need to check into. My son really likes most of the Spiderman games, so this could be another possibility.
I’m intrigued by WiiMusic, but like many others, I think I’ll wait before making a decision about it.
Carnival Games: Mini-golf is also a possibility (I have, and enjoy playing the original Carnival Games). The demo looks really nice, I just need to see how the controls feel.
Circus Games is also something I want to look into.
My son is a Monopoly addict, and is constantly wanting to play (even though I usually don’t), so this might be a good way to let him play to his hearts content (especially if it has good multi-player features – like on-line play).
Build-A-Bear is a definite possibility as well for my daughter (who just happens to love her build-a-bear).
So all in all this seems like a pretty good week for me.

  7. Jimmy says:

I’m going to rent wii music and transformers animated . Everything else looks pretty stupid .

  8. El Hajjish says:

    Well said Axel!

That being said, I don’t think Wii Music is for me, but I understand what Nintendo is trying to do with it.

  9. neko to kuruma says:

Pass The Pigs… the video game? The fun of pass the pigs is seeing how well you can roll the pigs into the weird combinations. Automated rolling in a video game takes the entire point of it out of the equation. You might as well just be playing Yahtzee (not that there’s anything wrong with that.)

Lot’s of crappy games this week, too.

  10. KillerHeroes says:

Despite the dislike on Infendo, I’m really intrigued by Wii Music and I might pick it up.

  11. GrumpyDavid says:

Wow, what a long list of crap games.

  12. bOB says:

I’m actually liking wii music the more I see of it. I mean in what other game can you do something this cool.

  13. farlander27 says:

    Yay for shovelware.. woot woot.

  14. XCWarrior says:

The physics for Spiderman: Web of Shadows looks very promising. Otherwise, a long but useless list. I really wish I reviewed games for a living, so I could have gotten paid by Nintendo to give Wii Music a good review. Please stop complimenting the POS already. So glad we only have to hear about it for another week or two, then silence until you inform us about the price drop.

  15. Richter says:

This week is all about Castlevania for me. Hopefully Wii Music will be up in kiosks in game stores so I can have a good laugh this week.

  16. samfish says:

I’m certainly interested in Wii Music. I love the concept behind it. Unfortunately, since it lacks a music creation portion, I’ll be renting it before I buy it. I don’t like being limited to playing whatever songs they included, especially since there don’t seem to be all that many.

My sense is that it’s a great concept, but that Nintendo isn’t taking it nearly as far as they could or should.

  17. Andrew G. says:

Wow, that’s a lot of shovelware!

I’m not interested in Wii Music. I think the ideas might be there, but the execution is just horrendous. I watched a video on IGN of Matt Casamassina (did I spell that correctly?) playing the Legend of Zelda theme and it was just enough to make my ears bleed.

  18. InvisibleMan says:

The only two titles I’m midly interested on are Master of the Monster Lair (Atlus fan here), and Wii Music, just to see what the heck it is.

Oh, and my daughter might be interested in Smart Girl’s Party Games. She absolutely loved the first Smart Girl’s title (she’s three years old).

But I’m so buried in new games already, I don’t think I’ll buy another game until next year. Who’s complaining about lack of good games, anyway???

  19. KillerHeroes says:

Ooh, Wii Music is a full $50. That just knocked it off my game get list.
