N64 games are on their way to the Wii U Virtual Console

That’s right, folks, Nintendo 64 games are officially coming to the Wii U eShop. A subtle change to Nintendo’s Wii U Virtual Console page hints at “the future addition of titles from the…Nintendo 64.” The only caveat? We have no idea when this will actually happen. I mentioned this was a subtle update, which suggests that the launch of N64 games on Wii U is still a ways away, and Nintendo is in no rush to make a big deal out of it.

In the meantime, let’s dream of the fantastic games we’ll eventually be playing on our Wii U’s, shall we? I’m stoked for Mario Kart 64 and 1080° Snowboarding in particular, both of which I’ll be able to download at a discounted price. What are you looking forward to playing?

Thanks to Eric for the tip.

In addition to being a girl gamer, Holly prides herself on being a red-head. Consequently, the blue shell in the Mario Kart series is her natural enemy. Don't worry, though: she still loves Mario Kart and is very good, despite the occasional blue shell-sabotaged race. Like any Nintendo fan, Holly also loves Zelda, Pokemon, Mario, Donkey Kong, Metroid, Kirby...you name it. But she'll try just about anything (besides horror games) and has a soft spot for unique, little-known rhythm games like Rhythm Heaven and Samba de Amigo. NNID: Aeroweth
