it’s a tie between msft and pc- but since the pc isn’t a console i voted msft.

the 360 has by far the most comfortable controls since the dualshock gives me weird blisters cause it’s too small.

but any noncasual shooter is pc territory.

Hmm.. Probably Sony. I was rooted to the PS2 all last gen.

  5. Karl says...

yeah. the ps2 was like. good. but not really because of sony more of the games they had. i really hate sony as a company.

How could anyone vote for Sony over the Saturn and Dreamcast. You 26 (as of now) must be into those trendy new fangled games and not awesome arcade conversions XP. If I could I’d put in a special vote for Microoft just because a modded regular xbox is one of the best systems you can have.

If not for the Dreamcast, it would’ve been Sony in a heartbeat… That’s a big “if” though. ;)

I was gonna vote “other” for SNK but considering I never actually PLAYED a Neo Geo I picked Sega.

Still love me some SNK, though.

I had to go with Sony. I loved my Sega Genesis but skipped over the Saturn and Dreamcast. I think Sony has lots of poor decisions concerning the PS3, and I have no intention of buying one, Blu Ray or not. Nevertheless, I use my PS2 a lot more than my old Sega Genesis.

Can’t give it to Microsoft simply because of all the malfunctions they have had with their machines. Thereby, it goes to Sony.

If we’re talking about just consoles, then Sega. They made some good, solid hardware. Sony, by contrast, fucked up their first two consoles (turn the PS1 upside down, DREs on the PS2)…and MS needs no introduction when it comes to shit hardware.

If we’re talking first party franchises and games, then ALSO Sega. Sonic, Gunstar Heroes, Space Channel 5, NiGHTS, Jet Set Radio, Panzer Dragoon…the list goes on and on.
Sony has some good stuff, too and MS has Rare…but none of them measure up to all the awesome games Sega has made over the years. Plus, Sega’s game design philosophy is a lot closer to Nintendo’s than Sony or MS’s is, in general.

    PC all the way.

  12. Alexis Santos says...

Ok, who voted for Leapfrog?! lol

  13. HyperSonic says...

I voted for Sega. They’re the ones that gave Nintendo a good run for their money way back when. Makes you wonder, what would happen if Sega started making consoles again?

  14. Joltman says...

Had to vote for PC since I’ve never played a non-Nintendo console in my life!

  15. RoyalRook says...

Contra on the Genesis was awesome, then again, I was a tiny little kid WITH INSANE FINGERS OF DEATH!!! WAhahahaha werewolf dumping fire walls in your face.

  16. deepthought says...

I never got into the dreamcast much beyond a couple rounds of soul caliber. Why does everyone have such love for it?

  17. Bii says...

I voted Sega, because I owned a SMS and Genesis, but I’ve been gaming on my PCs way longer. Why is PC even a “console” option? WHY DO YOU PEOPLE CONFUSE US?

AND SCREW the 360, because of it, MS is neglecting PC gaming. :( TOO MANY good games are being gimped for this console’s PlaySkool controller. At least support the mouse as a standard MS, you’re killing us!

And to ramble further and on the subject of Sega and PC, anyone else recall MS and Sega’s partnership in the later nineties? First there was the Saturn PCI card released for Windows, then the DreamCast with Win CE of course. I also recall that guy Leo on Tech TV, stating that Sega worked with MS to develop the XBox’s memory, or something along that line.

Anyways, I always though it was more than a coincidence that Sega left the hardware business about the same time MS entered, knowing that they had been working together.

  18. streex says...

    Dreamcast was sweet.

  19. Austin says...

NO COLECO!?! infendo, i am ashamed

  20. Disco says...

Sony all the way, but not becouse psp and ps3, I love it becouse ps1 which is by my standards the best console ever!
And I agree too with Bii too, PC is not a console(then why not include commodore also)!!!

  21. Chris says...

All for Sega getting back in the console business, raise your hands!

  22. tylor says...

Sega getting back into the console business would spell the end of the company. How many commercial failures in a row (Sega CD/ 32 X/ Saturn/ Dreamcast) do you guys think a company can take?

I know, the Dreamcast was awesome and I owned one too but still, the last thing in the world I’d want to see from Sega is a new console.

  23. Lord Toker says...

i voted other since Atari wasn’t an option, but they count if sega counts. as a child i loved atari before nintendo and i loved my lynxx (the most under rated hand held of all time). c’mon it was scaling and rotating in full color while the game boy was still black and green and needed a light so you could see the screen.

  24. raindog469 says...

I guess I’m the other “other”. No Atari? No fun!

  25. egag21 says...

Give me some Coleco Vision, any day. Ever heard of Miner 2049er? How ’bout Zipper? Or even Popeye! I miss those days.

  26. raindog469 says...

And Popeye was even a Nintendo game (originally, in the arcade… in fact, Donkey Kong was originally supposed to be Popeye but they couldn’t get the deal done at the time.)

I’d love to see Nintendo bring Popeye back on the VC, especially a proper arcade port because the Coleco one was a little stiff. But at least in the US, Nintendo isn’t really into acknowledging there was a video game industry prior to 1985.

You know, I would rank Atari, Coleco, GCE (makers of the Vectrex) and even Commodore (for the C64 and Amiga) over any of the options in this list.
