Nintendo promised more games for its E3 2009 keynote, and it pretty much delivered that. Mostly—where the hell was Pikmin?

didn’t you hear Iwata say “You can use our new Wii finger pulse controller to feel the pikmin in our all new pikmin adventure, Pikmin 3:Circulatory System Edition!”.

  2. Gregory Weagle says:

It probably hit a huge snag in development and it’s not ready to be shown. Why else show Mario Galaxy 2? I think Pikmin 3 was supposed to be shown in it’s place; but was changed at the last minute since Mario Galaxy 2 was have problems with development.

@Jake: No I didn’t….And I first thought the device was a joke to rib Microsoft for making Project Natal. I thought it was funny…until you just brought out the first use of the controller. Thank you Jake.

I bet they’re waiting to demo it at the other conference before they bring it to PAX 2009!

  5. Rabbitduck says:

Yeah! There’s no reason not to have Pikmin out for the Wii sometime soon… the wiimote is basically perfect for Pikmin play… and it’s been far too long since the wonder that is Pikmin 2 was released…

Hey, I was hoping to hear from some of:

    Pilotwings Wii
    FZero Wii/DS
    Super Smash Bros. DS
    Star Fox Wii
    Kid Icarus Wii
More of those games they showed at the japanese press event back in October
    New Wii Channels
    Wii/DS connectivity
    Wii speak support
More REAL EA support (I’ve been wishing for Mirror’s Edge)
Assasin’s Creed 2 Wii (I mean, the DS got the first one, and the PSP’s getting the second)
    Kingdom Hearts Wii
    ZELDA!!! (using wii motion plus)
Some kind of ART PACKAGE. The Wiimote was practically built for some sort of creative art games. The closest we have is the Wii Photo Channel and Bloom Blox. I mean, both the 360 and PS3 press events had painting programs on their new motion hardware, so why don’t we?

    and let’s not forget:

    Miyamaoto himself!

In a lot of ways I’m disappointed. Happy in others, but there’s so much untapped potential in there. Maybe it will happen later though.

    @ elmer:

Took the words right outta my mouth. I was looking for more DSi and DS stuff too. But the re-appearance of a chronological sequel to the Metroid franchise pretty much automatically makes this E3 the best one ever.

  8. gojiguy says:

    WHERE WAS F-ZERO WII?

  9. Jonkind says:

Agreed, myself and my wife are pretty disappointed there was no Pikmin. And for me moreso – no Zelda.

I agree with elmer and we should of seen some of those titles he named off. I read another article on here somewhere talking about most announcements were good, but were the same mostly relying on the franchise titles. Nintendo was good though. I am excited about super mario galaxy 2 and metroid: other m. However not too long ago we saw a DS zelda, a NEW super mario, a wii fit… they all kinda look similar, but will be good most likely. I am interested to see what happens for that thing that takes your pulse. I think we need to see things that haven’t been around a while or to take titles and redesign the way you play. Like Kid icarus Wii and pilotwings wii. what suprised me is how much they talked about the DS last year and now that the DSi is out, they kinda ignored it and didn’t show much new stuff for it. they focused on the wii, which is good also.
