Mega Man 9 at E3, live gameplay – Level 2

Who kidnapped me, and slipped me into a time machine? Veterans, you have to love the look and sound of Mega Man 9, and you younger guys need to find an emulator or a crusty old neighbor with a working NES and get playing Mega Man 1 and 2. The difficulty of this title apparently led several E3 attendees to contemplate suicide. It’s not about game length at all, it’s about accomplishment and challenge. Yum.

Holy crap, that looks awesome, and frustratingly hard… I hope that’s one of the more difficult levels.

I wonder what development for this was like. I’m assuming they just dug up the old art assets and made some new levels…

    WOOOOOOOOOOOO!

  3. DeathChronx says:

Awesome, this looks like a lot of fun, whoever is playing really sucks though

  4. Joltman says:

    Wow. That’s. Just. Awesome!
What happened to the villain’s name on the intro screen?

  5. Jack says:

Joltman– this is a demo, with only two playable levels, IIRC. I assume they’re still finishing things up for the Sept release in Japan.

I wonder if they had to go back and re-create all the sprites and animations or if they could “grab them” from some old code.
