A note regarding offensive ads on Infendo

Howdy readers.
A while back, several complained about pesky audio ads on the site which I though I had taken care of. I keep my speakers turned off during the day, so I didn’t notice when they reappeared. I believe I have taken care of the problem once and for all (and share your disdain for obtrusive ads). If there are any remaining offensive ads on the site, audio or otherwise, please email me at blake@infendo.com.
Sorry again for the inconvenience. Hopefully it didn’t run anyone off.
UPDATE: I’m working with the ad provider to get the ads removed (my updated setting aren’t working). If they don’t get this fixed, I will can them as a vendor.

Although I found them annoying, it has been totally worth reading Infendo to put up with 5 seconds of annoying audio. I appreciate you getting rid of them, but anyone who would stop reading the site just because of an ad? Seriously, get over it.

Honestly, Rabbitduck, It made me not want to check the site as frequently. Say I’m listening to loud music from my computer, I visit the site, and suddenly I have an ad almost screaming at me *over* my music.
But yes, MOST appreciated Scott!

I don´t like ads, but i understand that is a need to keep a site alive. However, i´m pretty sure i will never click any add displayed here at Infendo, why? Well, i think the ads should be more gaming related or at least oriented to the usual Infendo reader, that way the would have greater potential i believe.
Cause trust me, i couldn´t care less if Jamie Lynn Spears is pregned or not.

Thanks for getting rid of the audio ads, they are most annoying. I had whitelisted infendo.com in adblock but promptly undid that when I heard an ad talking to me.

They do get annoying. I hate that about myspace. Also that Wiifit slalom video running by itself was kind of annoying.

I appreciate your efforts, but I’m still hearing the “free ipod” audio ad. It hasn’t kept me from visiting your site and reading your content, but it’s still annoying.

I can deal with the “free ipod” audio ad. It was the “Do you suffer from congentive rectal itching?” audio ads that were getting to me.

Most annoying for me is them smiley’s that keep shouting at me “NO WAAAAY” every time my cursor goes over it… VERY annoying

firefox+adblock will rid you have these ads. I just like to think I’m supporting infendo by not blocking them.
There should be a donate button somewhere.

I’m so glad you’re taking care of the problem. Those ads are so annoying, and I was thinking of saying something myself. I was thrilled when I saw that headline just a moment ago. I started reading and when I got about halfway through the most amazing thing happened…

So uhh… yeah… those ads aren’t entirely gone yet. But I appreciate your consideration for your readers.

Yeah, I took Infendo off the ABP whitelist the first time I came here with my volume on, sorry. I’d like to think ad networks are sensitive to getting their customers blocked, but I guess there are so few who use blockers that they just don’t care.
There used to be a Flash “click to play” plugin, but one of the times I upgraded Firefox it went away. That would have taken care of things.

At first, I found it extremely ironic that when I first loaded this page to read, I got the “IPod Nano” clip. But judging from the fact that so many people are mentioning getting the same ad, and the fact that I get it every time
I load the page, I’m guessing that they attached the clip to the page specifically so we’d get the picture.

I have to say, Im in the minority here, I’ve never heard adverts. (The only one I here online is the “Hellloooooo” one, that seems to be everywhere. - Perhaps it’s because I am in the UK so we don’t get iPod ads here???)

I heard it as I came to Infendo this time.
To be honest, though, it never really bothered me enough to stop coming. I’d come, then I’d hear the whole ‘2 FREE iPod Nanos!’ and be like ‘Where the hell is that coming from?’

Thank you for looking into this; I must admit it’s incredibly irritating. I just loaded the page and got that “Congratulations, you have been selected to receive 2 free iPod nanos” in that stupid annoying girl’s voice that makes me want to punch someone’s head off in one fluid motion… er, anyway, just letting you know.
