On the topic of independent developers:
Matt from IGN touched on this when he first talked about WiiWare in his podcast.
Essentially, Nintendo is referring these developers to the big companies, who are then buying the ideas/creating contracts for the games. There are a lot of weird deals, he mentioned.

I can’t believe you said Chode.

Scott, I think you need to turn down your voice track volume and make everyone else’s louder. It’s killing my ears trying to hear Kyle and Blake and getting yelled at by Scott.

Also, you can only play two players per console when playing Mario Kart Wii on Nintendo WiFi Connection.

How has no one mentioned Disaster, Kirby, Animal Crossing, Red Steel 2 (yes the first one was great, but it was the first FPS on the Wii so it didn’t know what it was doing. RedSteel 2 can be mch better), Bully.
I’m hoping to own all of these games (as well as Kart, WiiFit, Brawl)
And I’d llike to second what africansk8er said and for you guys to play around with the volume settings of everyone. It can get a little annoying when I can’t hear what Kyle and Blake say and miss half of a discussion.

Some light comments on the podcast:
The PS3: It’s funny that Scott picked up a PS3 recently as I was too thinking of getting one now that the “war” is over. I can see a lot people now picking it up as their Blu-ray player of choice.
The N64: I as well didn’t have fond memories of this console. The main reason for me: $$$. This console was big while I was still harping my parents for spending cash and at the time, my allowance never was significant to get too many games. By the time the Cube came around, I had my own job and could pick up games more easily. So I feel for Blake their. However, any WCW/WWF games from the 64 I would get in a heart beat.
WiiWare: I’ve said it before, but Demos are key to VC or WiiWare titles as they have no value outside of the console they were purchased on. If I blow $5 on a game that I will never play because it is awful, there is no return no trade-in, no nothing. I would much rather try these type of games out first, before buying to lessen any potential buyer’s remorse. Oh and btw: FF:CC My Life as King is being slated for around $15 (US) in Japan. So my thoughts are most WiiWare titles will not be $5.
On a side note, I agree that the volumes for the different people on the podcast is too drastic. Scott is good, but Blake/Kyle are very low.
Great podcast as usual though. Makes my Monday drive to work a little better than the other days.

Scott, with one more console on your life, you will see less and less of your Wii! Personally, even if I had the money to get a PS3 now, there is just no way to pack in any more entertainment time in my life…
I think both Scott and Blake have a similar voice volume level; it’s Kyle’s that seem to be coming in a lot quieter… And I think it is a hardware problem, not Kyle’s voice per se.

thanks for the feed back on the volume guys.
i’ll work with scott to fix the problem because… well… we got something big planned and i intend to be heard loud and clear
thanks for listening!

I know this is late, but I can’t believe you guys can dismiss Smash Brothers as a button mash. It’s only a button mash if you’re a beginner, once you get any good you can basically become unhittable by button mashers. I can’t really express my disgust through text, but you guys should lay off the blanket statements.
