Infendo Radio 127 – Turkey Talking Time

Monday, November 24th, 2008 at 7:05am by David

Okay, so maybe we don’t talk about turkeys or the country of Turkey this week, but Kyle, Will, and I do discuss Play It On Wii, whether or not Super Mario Bros 3 is better than Super Mario World, the Balance Board is back, and the Wii Music Contest winner announced!

So put down that fork and be sure to leave some comments or give us a call on the Infendo Radio Hotline: 206-338-BIGN (206-338-2446) after the show!

I’m all of three minutes in, but just an fyi to Kyle.

Oblivion was a mess to control on PC because the menus were designed for consoles. Fallout 3 is much better laid out and works fine with pc or console controls.

As far as the Wii goes . . . I think pointing with the Wiimote would be horrendous in F3. They could map the controls to buttons (like in the 360 or PS3), but having to click on things with the Wiimote in the menus would be oh so annoying.

Shooting would be more interesting, however.

Who won? Who won? Congrats, whoever you are!

I’m interested to see if a lot of people entered the Wii Music contest. Although the game looks interesting, I wouldn’t have played it for more than a couple hours tops – music games just don’t work for me – so didn’t bother to enter.

Looking forward to the show guys.

First off, congrats to… Lafferr? If I got that right… For winning Wii Music!

The show was interesting as usual, but also a bit plain. Do you guys not get any more emails or calls? I did send a call in for the first time last Saturday, thought it would possibly be used. I’m not complaining as in “USE MY CALL”, but what happened to all the Infendoite questions and comments that you guys used to play so often?

HyperSonic – Sorry it didn’t make this week. Your call is going to be on the next show!

As for the questions and emails, we really don’t get many, but they have started to pick up again.

  5. HyperSonic says...

No need to be sorry David, I was just curious. (Though silently in my head I go, “WOOOOO!”

Anyway, I hope they’re picking up again, I miss those segments. I’ll see if I can be more active with them, too, to contribute more.

Really fun to hear you guys talk about old 8-bit tunes. The enthusiasm and enjoyment from each person jumped out as you starting thinking about old games you loved the sound/music for.

    “Aww… marble madness!” :)

Have you considered making your next contest an “identify these sound clips” question? Or maybe just playing some clips on the show for fun and seeing if readers recognize them?

Final note: sometimes you guys talk about non-Nintendo news, especially when discussing what you’ve been playing lately. Not sure how others feel about that, but I love hearing about good games from any system as long as you stay positive about Wii and don’t get completely carried away.

@Ejamer. Keep in mind that Kyle’s Wii is on the fritz right now. That and Nintendo has been pretty overshadowed with the plethora of great games on other systems to their showing of Wii Music and Animal Crossing Rehash.

  8. RoyalRook says...

Unbelievable, there is someone on the Infendo podcast doesn’t know what system is Mother 3 on? And nobody finished the game yet? Why? I thought you guys are hardcore, what’s the deal? Mom took over your basement? (I am joking, relax)

LOL @ Animal Boxing. This one ought to be good :)

    @Paul:
Forgot about that… but even when his Wii gets back online I would encourage them to keep talking about games from any system as long as the games are worth getting excited about. As mentioned above, even though Infendo is largely a Nintendo-centric fansite, I love hearing about all kinds of good games.
    :)

    THE Wii CONQUERS ALL.

Kidding. Even though the only next-gen console I have is the Wii, I still love hearing about other games on other systems (Left 4 Dead, LittleBigPlanet, BK: N&B) for a change. It’s nice to know.

I had to come over and comment: while looking for pictures of the awesome Animal Boxing, I found out one of the characters is named Cock. Seriously.
