Yes! A nice little treat to wake up to. I can’t wait to hear what you guys have to say about all the recent Nintendo news.

Was fun! If yal can’t tell, I was using one of my old mics…thus the breathing noises, and 10 year old voice
.
Still a good talk though.

Punch out for the Wiiware? No, definitely not a good idea. You don’t want to destroy the integrity of a complete game by add on new fighters in the final roster, this is Nintendo, not Capcom.
But, if god forbid, Nintendo decides to provide DLC for Punch Out, there will be just some extra cloth or something like that. Believe it or not, Nintendo actually take care of their properties.

Great job today!
And I agree with the idea proposed that Punch Out should be released on disc to begin with, and then Nintendo could provide additional fighters and/or circuits to download later – or even higher difficulty settings.
Glad to know my tip on MM9 helped some people out and restored their faith in this new game.
Dr. Wily’s really hard though – I’m still trying to beat him.
Just to let you guys know: up here in NOA land, the Customer Service Center knew nothing about the DSi when I mentioned it – the testers don’t have it yet, either.
Again, great show guys! Keep it up!

At the conference I spent a fair amount of time wondering if Reggie was actually holding a fully functioning DSi, or just a prop. It was probably real, considering how close to release it is in Japan, but he never opened it or showed it to anybody up close to my knowledge. NOA testers probably won’t get it for awhile in any case, Reg made it pretty clear that they were not seriously considering releasing it in the US market any time soon.

@Sean:
While I do understand that the DSi won’t be released in North America well into 2009, when doing testing on a console, the units must start being tested well before the release date.
I should know – I’m a tester at a very, very big software company.
And even if the unit would be in “alpha” or “beta” stage, those editions of the DSi are vital for testing – the features can change or the setups can even change.
I’m sure these won’t for the DSi, but if you’re going to have Customer Service help solve your DSi problems, then they need to get everything down pat long before a customer comes to them for a problem.
And hardware testers are a fraction of the testers needed – you need testers for the software as well – if you’re localizing software, you need a North American unit to verify your game is working correctly, as well as correctly formatted for the North American people.
If they expect to release the DSi for Black Friday 2009, then I’m betting it’s only going to be a few months of wait for them before they start testing them here in Redmond.

One thing the DSi REALLY needs is WPA Wi-Fi security. WEP has been cracked, and I really do not like leaving my home network on WEP because my DS can’t handle WPA. The Wii can do WPA, so the DS is all that is holding me back.
Some actual system specs would be nice, too. Was memory increased? How about processor speed? How about graphic memory, or any fancy 3D improvements? Will the Wi-Fi be any faster, or will it still be on par with a telephone modem? Making it a millimeter thinner and breaking “Guitar Hero On Tour” is not particularly exciting.
I’m not that interested right now. I have Opera for web browsing, and a Games-n-Music cart for MP3s and DSOrganize. I have a camera for taking pictures, and it can actually take good ones.

David, if you like Fire Emblem and want to play it on the go, get the GBA ones. That’ll more than hold you over.
