Yeah thanks for this post… I get it. I have to admit that when I first heard this news of auto play for New Mario Wii I groaned, but forget about it. Your right it’s really nothing new. I just won’t use it myself but maybe my wife will for certain parts. No harm done, no big deal. You made a good point.

Hey, at least Nintendo won’t be charging us for cheats like EA does. ;)

    Biggest uproar over nothing

Kyle, more like biggest uproar over something that actually makes it possible to maintain gameplay styles that the people getting pissy enjoy in the face of a shrinking (target) market and spiraling costs. It’s doubly silly that way!

    @ Eolirin:

If you mean by keeping games challenging for the hardcore while allowing for this Kind Code, yeah I agree 100%.

Case in point: Zack & Wiki. Extremely challenging puzzles with an in-game hint system. The joy was in figuring it out yourself, but if you got really stuck, the game would help. This feature kept the game from being watered down difficulty-wise, but making it possible for less experienced gamers to enjoy it.
