Guitar Hero: Metallica announced

Friday, June 6th, 2008 at 1:28am by Jake

metallica225.jpgAre the upcoming RockBand, Rock Revolution, Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, Guitar Hero: On Tour, or Guitar Hero World Tour titles not looking to satisfy your metal head rhythm needs? Look no further as Activision has enlisted a new spin off to the franchise which takes Metallica along for the ride.

“In fiscal 2009, we plan to publish Guitar Hero: On Tour for the NDS; Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, Guitar Hero: Metallica, and Guitar Hero IV across multiple platforms,”

Fiscal 2009 makes full circle at the end of March so expect this one to most likely hit shelves Q1 2009. This announcement comes less than a year after Metallica sued both Harmonix, and Red Octane over music infringement. Is this how they met terms? Hmm…

Either way here comes one more money wagon down the pipeline…

Thanks, HyperSonic!

TOO MUCH GUITAR HERO… MUST SIT DOWN!

More like too much Metallica; they got to realize they stink and their fans are probably people that drink too much. >.>

*crosses fingers* Please nothing from St. Anger!

This could be the greatest rhythm game ever made, provided only tracks from their first five albums, Kill ‘Em All through the self-titled, are included. Metallica from 1991 backward were absolute gods, but nothing since has been anywhere NEAR as good as those first five records.

And of course, nothing Metallica has ever done compares to Megadeth, but that’s another story, and perhaps another GH game. :)

This could be great, though. Guitar Hero will likely never do a “metal” edition with only heavy metal tracks, but this could be the next best thing. Rhythm games without whiny emo, lousy punk and tired rock songs FTW!

    CREEPING DEATH!

    Metallica sued Harmonix?
You know they were the main guys in shutting-down Napster too, a few years ago? Ars Ulrich himself said they regretted it, as it caused a lashback against them… people stopped supporting them / buying their tired music.

Rawk N Roooolll (or hugely litigious cash-greedy corporate bitches as the case may be, who have yet to match anything they did pre-1990. that’s nearly 20 years ago.)

So, Guitar Hero World Tour (with the drums and whatnot) is going to officially be considered Guitar Hero IV?

  7. Jake says...

^ um…Guitar Hero IV is to now be entitled Guitar Hero: World Tour

If GH4 turns out to be ther better version of these band games and GH:Metallica is compatible with it I’ll most likely be getting it :D

Black album on before only. Please. And I’m including the black album because (a) I’m not a pretentious ass and (b) an entire game of seven+ minute songs would be killer on the hand.

  10. Paul says...

Edit: Black album OR before only.

  11. Jeff S. says...

    ROCK ON… now where’s my GH:Iron Maiden ??
