Activision says, “We wanted to provide you with an update regarding the status of the Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock Wii replacement discs. The game has been approved by Nintendo and is currently in manufacturing. We expect to have the replacement discs available in February. Once we have the discs, we will contact you and then proactively send you a prepaid return envelop with a game exchange claim form. You should return the completed form with your current copy of the game. Once we receive a completed claim form and game, we will send you the replacement disc.”
Tipster Jeff says, “YAY finally, but I don’t like how you have to send them you’re disk first before they’ll send you the new one… Can I go without GH3 for a week…. I’m not sure.”
Blake says, “bitter sweet.”

I’m interested in purchasing GHIII for the Wii but I want to make sure I get one with the PLII. I wonder if there will be any way to distinguish which packages have the new disc?
i actually think great. well, yea, no GH3 for a week, but i’ve got so much in my hands, i think i can go without it for a little week.
what about our save files? will those be transferred to the new discs?
Did he mean to say “bitter sweet?” I’m not sure what sweat has to do with it.
I’m with NinKenDo, does that mean they’ll start shipping new games with the new discs and such?
Ben: your save files aren’t stored on the disc. When my disc was giving me grief, I played with a friend’s disc and my saves were all recognised. So there’ll be no worries there.
That’s what the internal memory is for.
No worries, right? Now if only my blue button would stop sticking…

The current rumor is that all recently shipped versions of the game have the remastered discs – Activision seems to have been pretty quick to fix the problem, and since just about everything sent out before Christmas got sold, you should be able to get one with the fixed sound now (as long as you are buying new, not used).
