Great list of classic NES quotes: A Winner is You!

There are serious bugs, like the crashes that continually make me both love and hate Bethesda’s Fallout 3, and then there are the harmless ones that permeated a great many NES titles from yesteryear. Chief among them was the translation typo (think “all your base are belong to us”).
I couldn’t possibly remember all these classic quotes, like the one in the headline above from Pro Wrestling, but thankfully Sydlexia has a list of 50 of them on their site. Right. Now. Only some of them are typos or errors, but all of them are pretty awesome. The Game Over screen for Legend of Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link was especially poignant, as it reminded me how un-kiddie those games actually were. Basically, Link’s blood was required for Gannon to return to life. Gruesome!

Ah, the Zero Wing quote. It must be the most famous of all. I can’t really remember any from Nintendo.

I remember “I feel asleep” and “I am error”. There’s also “You’re Winner” from that atrocious game Big Rigs Racing.

Good article with one criticism – I just wish he didn’t use the effing f-word in almost every commentary for each quote.
So many memories from those quotes, though…

@ Joltman: I agree with you. Cursing doesn’t really do anything but makes the user look like a fool (and probably cause unnecessary fights) and that’s why I believe its called cursing. Shh!!!! ITS A SECRET TO EVERYBODY!

Cool list, but you should probably mention that there’s a bit of strong language that the link brings you to.

yes! totally was link’s blood. i always thought that was horrifyingly awesome.
back when i was working, i searched around for that pic so i could conclude an email rejecting a proposal with it. awesome.
