Geometry Wars commercial is musically inclined

Wednesday, September 26th, 2007 at 8:03am by Jack

I know this game technically came out first for the Xbox Live Arcade, but this commercial was too quirky to pass up. Made me think of the cartoon rendition as performed by the Tiny Toons. And besides, it’s a solid game regardless of where you can find it.

[Found via 4cr, who asked if this was the best commercial ever. Maybe, 4cr, maybe indeed.]

    So let’s see…

    Geometry Wars = awesome.
They Might Be Giants = awesome.

Add them together and you have awesome. The only problem is that this ISN’T the TMBG version of the song. BLAH!

Anyone know who is doing that cover version? It’s not a terribly annoying version of the song, either.

I regret buying a Wii and DS . . . they’re making me get poorer with each passing day.

Not even close to the best videogame commercial. Anybody remember that Metroid Prime commercial that showed in movie theaters and later on TV? It was done by Alex Proyas, director of the Crow, producer and writer of Dark City. Now that was a fantastic commercial.

But I ramble, this game should be a lot of fun. I never played the XBL version. I only have one problem… which version to buy? I can’t see myself paying a premium for these. They better be budget priced titles. The portability and probable lower price of the DS version may make the decision for me.

I love that song. And I too thought of the Tiny Toons version. I can’t hear the song WITHOUT thinking of it.
