GamePro leg humps Super Mario Galaxy

An excerpt from an early published Super Mario Galaxy review — it’s glowing:
Super Mario Galaxy raises the bar in terms of what can be achieved on the Wii. Galaxy is the kind of game that you’re going to want to take your time with because there is just so much to do in the game. This is the first game in a long time that I’ve actually gone back and replayed levels just for fun. It’s everything you loved about Mario 64 and nothing you hated about Super Mario Sunshine.
Galaxy hits Wii Nov. 12. Anyone not buying this game?

If you got a Wii, you are going to pick up this title…

I wasn’t going to buy it until I read 1up’s review. Well, at least not right away. I wanted o get through Fire Embllem twice, and Zak & Wiki once. Looks like I’ll be getting this too. Shoot, if I get some more work, I’ll be getting Guitar Hero III also.

If someone answers “me” to that question, that guy and i must have to talk. Seriously, this is the new standard of the plattformers, and to surpass it, oh well, good luck with that!

I’m not going to buy it. MoH:H2. And also because…well lets just say I have kind of a grudge on this game for getting SSBB pushed back another 9 weeks.

I feel like I’ve been waiting for this game for 10 years, oh yeah, I kinda HAVE been waiting for this for 10 years. I’m not even saying Sunshine was a bad game… just not what I was waiting for.

I keep going back to Gamestop every other day to play the demo. I have gone through the first 3-5 levels every time.

My local Gamestop (former EB) doesn’t even have a working Wiiosk right now, much less Galaxy. But I preordered it there anyway, because Target was already sold out at all 3 nearby locations.

I played it a little today, but not enough to understand what I was doing. At least I can say it looked pretty.

Mine is already fully paid for, and I’ll be in my local GameStop on the day of release to pick it up. Oh, I can’t wait to get my grubby hands all over it! Yes!
Anyway, for the person who was angry about Brawl’s push back, look at it this way: Those extra 9 or so weeks gives Sakurai and the rest of his development team to make the game even better, and I respect that decision. Miyamoto famously said it himself: A delayed game is eventually good. A bad game is bad forever.
‘Nuff said.

I have a Wii at home but because my dad bought it and I have siblings I had to leave it while I’m at college. Anyway there are some people in my dorm that have a Wii and I saw them playing Strikers today. When I asked them if they were going to pick up Mario, they said “Nah…I think we’re just gonna wait for Brawl.” On behalf of my own anguish at not getting to play Mario until Christmas break, I wanted to throw their Wii out the window.

Dan,
sounds like you need to save up for a wii of your own. or just rent Galaxy when it comes out and show your buddies what’s up with the game. Sounds like they’re definitely interested in multiplayer stuff though, but Galaxy seems transcendent enough that everyone should own it.

Nice score although I generally don’t care for 5 point grading scales.

I’m actually glad Brawl got pushed back, and can’t really affod to drop $100 on games every couple weeks so this was I can afford to buy both on the day they come out.
