   I remember watching this commercial. It’s still awesome, from the silly “gameplay photo” showing random button presses to the old movie clips to the radio announcer voice.

   hey I remember that commercial. Although it never struck me as odd why a Mario game suddenly had shmup levels until now.

   I remember seeing this while in Disney World and being absolutely amazed by this ad, sadly because Mario was rendered in 3D and, in 1989, was one of the very first commercial examples. Those were magical times.
