ExciteBots-inspired gambling question of the day

What’s the over under, in months, on the amount of time before Nintendo reveals an all-in-one Wiimote w/MotionPlus built in? I’m saying three, and bet the under.

I’m going to say that before a wii-mote w/MotionPlus there is going to be a Wii Play 2, with an “Extended” wii-mote. Going to be on the top 10 charts for a decade.

Being the successful capitalists that they are, I bet Nintendo doesn’t release one before November. We’ll be lucky to see it by Christmas. It’ll be like waiting for an N64 controller with a built-in rumble pack….

Maybe that’s what they’ll bundle with Wii Sports Resort. THAT’S why that game is coming out later than Tiger Woods and the Tennis game.
Announcement at E3! I’m calling it now.

I reckon they’ll keep it separate – after all think of the confusion if you need one type of controller to play most games and another to play some with better motion controls.
As desirable as an integrated motionplus is, i think that a separate unit is a better marketing strategy at this stage of the systems life. Keeping it as a separate unit also allows Nintendo to pack it in with games that require it – making it much easier for mums and dads to not ruin little Jimmy’s christmas.

I don’t think they’ll keep it separate. As Red Steel 2 suggests, some games will require its use and not work without it.
I agree with Jonkind: I bet it’ll be an E3 announcement.

It’s not going to happen until the Wii 2 comes out. If it happens I will be VERY surprised.

I bet it’ll stay seperate, but eventually they’ll pack them with new wiimotes and consoles.

I totally hope you’re right and they integrate it but I don’t think they will. Much like the Wii was a gamble and experimental, so too, I think, is Motion Plus. If it’s successful, I see it being integrated into the controller for the Wii HD coming out in 2011.

It won’t happen for 1 and 1/2 years, or until the Uus (my title for Wii 2) comes out.

I think that its equally possible, as others have stated, that the MotionPlus could be bundled with future Wii Remotes instead of being integrated directly into future Wiimotes. Only time will tell.

Jack How dare you deceive Infendo readers, You state that something big involving Nintendo will happen, like it’s common knowledge. So readers feel they must believe you, when there is no grounding to what you are saying. How dare you!!!

No sooner than six months after MotionPlus debuts, and maybe not for longer than that. If they make an “all-in-one” WiiMote it’s going to have to fit the same space as the regular controllers, and that might actually take a little while to figure out.
