The wait is finally over.

Nintendo has announced that the cult-classic SNES RPG, Earthbound, will be available on the Wii U Virtual Console in North America and Europe starting today. First announced for the Virtual Console during an April Nintendo Direct, Earthbound has been on many fans wish list for the online service since its inception in 2006. Aside from the game itself being available for the first time in digital retail form (not counting ROMs, mind you), Nintendo will also be providing the game’s strategy guide online for use on the Wii U’s GamePad.

Earthbound will retail for $9.99. Happy gaming, Earthbound fans.

For years, he has purchased every one of the company's subsequent products (yes, including the Virtual Boy and eReader). It wasn't until he was a young teen when he bought a PS2 that he began to embrace cross-console relations, a decision he doesn't regret. When he's not gaming, Harrison is looking to break into the magazine journalism industry and realize his dream of becoming a features reporter.
