One of the more creative applications for the DSi, Moving Memo Pad, is letting Japanese gamers try their hand in animation. It’s a easy to use frame by frame animation program, but it goes above and beyond the gimmick of a well designed application by integrating with a youtube-like website - Ungomom Hatena. Animations created on the DS can be uploaded, shared, and added upon by other users – creating a fun application and a diverse and interactive online community. Videos range from simple camera animations to complicated hand drawn epics. Check out these samples:

do want
^I was just going to say that even before I clicked the link. D:
But I’ll say it anyway, but this time in caps.
DO WANT.
Man that will one of the first apps I am going to get once the DSi comes out here in month and a half.
This is too cool, and the sharing/creative options are pretty awesome to think about.
I’d actually play a game based on that second animation.
pretty sweet
I’m definitely getting a DSi now.
wait- so why isn’t this available on the ds normal?
deepthought:
’cause the regular DS does not have internal storage. It’s a downloadable thing.
I WANT IT MORE NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
YEAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!!!!
This’ll be great for me to make comics on the go…because I make cool manga volumes…and sell them… for like 15 bucks…
