Weekly sales numbers show The World Ends for Pokemon

Gamasutra shows that The World Ends With You has beaten both new Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games from this week’s releases. Permanent fixtures New Super Mario Bros and Brain Age 2 are still on the list. Prof Layton was knocked off the top five list for the first time since its release back in February.
Anyone pick up The World Ends With You or either Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games? Share your impressions in comments.

I got The World Ends with You. It’s ok, I’ve only played the 1st day (

less than 1 hour) It’s a lot of fun, but I suck at it.
(my post got screwed up)

Yeah, I’m on the 3rd day and I like it.
Downside for me right now is playing as the 2nd player (using the Control Pad) - it’s tricky to sync while playing as the 1st player using the stylus.
Maybe with a little more practice I’ll get it down.
Other thing for me, I love to keep playing - but I keep forgetting to save! So when I die, I have to start at the very beginning.
But that’s my fault.
Anyways, definitely go get The World Ends With You - it’s a worthwhile buy, and a new spin on a RPG-like adventure!

I had to make a hard choice between The World Ends With You and Rondo of Swords this week.
I finally went with Rondo of Swords, not so much because it might be better than The World Ends With You (it may be), but mostly because my style of gaming-on-the-go can only include turn-based gameplay. I play while driving, you see…

“I play while driving, you see…”
This is absolutely frightening.

hahahaha- while driving?? should we worry if you don’t post for a long time??
(oh yeah, game looks cool too)

Good. Pokemon doesn’t need the support. It might give Squeenix more incentive to make more original titles for DS.

I loooooooooooove The World Ends With You, though it has a pretty steep learning curve. You’re still gaining aspects of the game on the third day. My buddy and I were joking that by the seventh day (i.e. the end) you’ll finally learn how to save the game.
*Note: You can save right from the beginning.
Is it worth $40 . . . uh, maybe, but I had a $10 gift certificate, so . . .

The World Ends With You annoys the pants off me. It makes me feel alienated by modern Japanese culture, perhaps I haven’t played enough but it really feels full of itself and sickening in that sense. The art style is interesting though.

TWEWY is an amazing game. The 2 screen battling system took a little getting used to, but now I am fighting at level 2 with a level 7 pin drop rate. I highly reccommend it for it’s one of the best DS games.

At first I really did not like The World Ends With You because they just throw a bunch of instructions at your face within the first 10 minutes of the game, and because the main character is an annoyingly huge jerk. I was just about to give up on the game, but the story just suddenly picked up and now I absolutely love it.
I came to find out you don’t really need to understand or learn all of the instructions they throw at you right away. You can take your sweet time getting to know all of the features, and the game doesn’t punish you if you don’t use several things. However, you won’t get as many cool items and stuff if you take the easy way out, so that gives you the incentive to learn things.
The music, while repetitive at times, is great, too. I was playing the new Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, but now I’m gonna have to hold out on that because World Ends is much better.
