Rumor: Game Boy games for DS

OK, so how about an evening rumor or two for those of you not watching the World Series right now (or those of you without a laptop on your couch, a la me)?
Animal Crossing might eventually be MMORPG some day, and Game Boy games could be coming to the DS in downloadable Virtual Console form. Remember these are just rumors, supplied in a single article by EDGE magazine, but that sounds pretty cool to me. Well, the Game Boy games do anyway, as I’m not really a fan of anything that involves MMORPG in its elevator pitch. I had a bad experience once. A friend actually got sucked into his PC because he forgot what the Sun looked like. Sad.
Game Boy games? Happy.

I have been yammering about a ‘Virtual Handheld’ for quite some time, hope this is true. I missed out on some GBA games, and lost quite a few too. GB Donkey Kong FTW!!

Will it be a Gameboy channel for classic gameboy games? ..if not, how will it be able to download a game into the DS and save the game for later continue play without having to download it again…theres is no way you can download a game into the DS and saving it there.

Does anyone still wanna play ANY original gameboy games? Seriously, some were fun in their day, but the tetrises, zeldas, castlevanias, marios and metroids of yester-decade aren’t any match for their GBA and DS grand children. If it’s not bullshit, then it’s a waste of energy on Nintendo’s part.

Blockss: The rumor at Next-Gen mentions a DS Flash cart to download GB games to your DS, and presumably, save them there. I would hope you would be able to swap them back and forth to your Wii as well.

I’m far more excited about the Animal Crossing rumor than the GameBoy downloads rumor… And no, I can’t think of any original GameBoy game that I’d like to play, especially since there’s a much better GBA version of all successful GameBoy games out there!

If nintendo does make a flashcart, it would be freakin’ awesome if you could use homebrew off of it using flashme…
