The orchestrated music did the trick for me. That, and Yoshi vs Tails ping-pong.
If this is any good, I might have to plunk down some money for it. It’ll be good for when the nieces and nephews come to visit.. yeah.. that’s the ticket. As an added bonus, I could bore them with old man stories about how Mario and Sonic were once bitter rivals..

As much as I like Nintendo, but does anyone really think Mario and Luigi can outrun Sonic and Shadow? XDDD

As much as I would love to buy it, if Dr. Robotnik is named “Eggman” I simply refuse as a matter of principle. His name’s not friggin “Eggman.” It’s Robotnik.

I went through the trailer slowly and found: Espio, the little animals sonic saves, a blue Flicky, and what could possibly be a chicken from billy hatcher! They’re all pretty hard to find. Just keep pausing the trailer and you’ll see them.

Right in the beginning after the fireworks, you see what I assume are all 14 playable characters. However, there’s someone between Bowser and Yoshi over on Mario’s side that you never see again in the video.
You think that’s Daisy or Waluigi? It looks a little more like Daisy.

I don’t get it guys… This trailer had no gameplay footage whatsoever, it was all pre-rendered CGI sequences! Where do you get that the game will be any good?
Also, from the footage, I have to ask: why does this game need any video game characters at all? It looked to me like they were behaving like any regular human athletes!
If, for example, Shadow can pull out his gun and shoot the other contenders if he starts to lose, THEN I’ll say this game has some reason to exist.

As a staunch anti-Sonic activist… I have to admit that that trailer was still rather impressive. It reminds me a lot of the opening for Mario Golf for the Gamecube.
