With an itch to play some oldies, I downloaded Donkey Kong Country on Virtual Console over the weekend. Man has this game aged well. It’s awesomeness is three fold: Big jumps, superb sound, and enemies that are fun to stomp on. It’s just as entertaining today as it was in 1994. If that’s what some critics call overrated, I’ll gladly take it. Just know that Donkey Kong Country stands the test of time in spite of its graphics, not because of them.
