Disaster: Day of Crisis to launch in Japan on September 25th

Nintendo has confirmed that Disaster: Day of Crisis is set to be released in Japan on September 25th. This confirmation comes just days after Nintendo of Europe released their announcement for an October 24th launch in the UK region.
September 25th?! Monolith Soft spends over three years developing this title just to have it released a mere three weeks from now? Where are the trailers, and promotional adverts? Either way this gives U.S. Wii owners more to consider when predicting a western release date. There’s a very good chance NoA could slip Disaster into the upcoming lack-luster holiday line-up without worries.

Ghostbusters, Animal Crosing, Chrono Trigger DS, Raving Rabbids TV Party, Sonic Unleashed, and Guitar Hero: World Tour!
Don’t tell me that lineup is lackluster!

I certainly hope they do slip it into the (yes, very) lackluster holiday release list. I’d like to think they will.
Joltman (with all due respect):
Ghostbusters: I think that game is having issues with finding a publisher, isn’t it, or is that all resolved?
Animal Crossing: This game will be like the original, with a little bit of online and a little bit of “voice chat,” and hardly much else. The fact that the franchise doesn’t really make me excited actually makes this a bit of a biased opinion, though, so I’ll have to leave that one alone.
Raving Rabbids TV Party: I don’t have faith in this one. The original Raving Rabbids game was okay (my older sister loves it to death), but I wonder how long they can stretch this series. The rabbids just aren’t funny anymore.
Sonic Unleashed: I wouldn’t hold my breath for anything with Sonic’s mug on it. Sorry, but the name “Sonic Team” makes me fear for the quality of a game when it should do the exact opposite. Although Sonic and the Secret Rings wasn’t horrible, so I suppose there’s hope. But word is, “Unleashed” isn’t as hot as it could be, and the same is said of Sonic Chronicles (developed by BioWare, and if BioWare can’t make anything good out of the Sonic brand, something’s wrong), and the fact that Sonic is being given a sword in his next Wii-specific outing makes me shudder. *shudders*
Guitar Hero: World Tour: I’m not a big GH fan because I don’t have enough money to break down and buy it, but I’m gonna have to give that one to you. I may cave and buy it since it’s apparently just as full-featured as the other versions, which I appreciate as a gamer and like to support where Wii games are concerned.
Anyway, I’ve been looking forward to seeing something out of Disaster: Day of Crisis since they first announced it back at E3 2006. I’m shocked that they have just now shown further interest in the project and have already given it a very close release date. I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing, but I’ll be optimistic.

In regards to Joltman’s Sexy Amazing Holiday Super Lineup, are you sure that Ghostbusters is still coming out, did they get a new publisher?
Personally I’m looking forward Tales of Symphonia 2.

To those who don’t know, Ghostbusters is a definite release: Sierra has overtaken the development of the title, and should be released in the holiday; it was proposed to be released Mid-October.
It was being advertised all over PAX this year, especially on the lanyards everyone got to use to hold their badges on.

I don’t really see how this is game is going to be anything above just mediocre at best and terrible at worse.
On topic, it seems like this sudden reappearance of Disaster is part of attempt by Nintendo to make the Wii’s fall lineup look less dreary. After the lukewarm reception at E3, they pulled this game off the top shelf, dusted it off, and sent it on its merry way.
This was destined to be a pretty average game from the beginning, but the fact that I’m sure they rushed it out makes me even more skeptic.
Meh, I’m sure I’ll try it at some point… Maybe I’ll even buy it when it inevitably goes on clearance.

E3 has come and gone now, and you really shouldn’t rely on that data.
PAX has just finished up, and there’s a lot more obtained from that, because all the games were open to the consumers.

Seriously – everyone, including Nintendo, agreed that E3 sucked.
But no one should ever use E3 any longer as a guide to determine what’s going to be good and what isn’t for the holiday season/future.

Sweet it’s coming out just goes to show you not many people with in nintendo are talking. So most rumors are just that. Another thing is nintendo doesn’t really announce these type of games any more. Letting you think nothing is coming is better than having you wait. From what I’m seeing no too much is coming out on the other systems also.

No, just for fanBoys who want to think things are going great has the bar been lowered.
Anyways, this game should be very interesting. It is strange that we don’t have any in game footage or any real previews yet for a game that is coming out so soon. That almost frightens me.

does anyone else take this game’s reappearance from the dead for an announced launch date without any actual promotion on nintendo’s behalf (am i wrong? i haven’t seen any?) might be a really bad sign?

Chrono Trigger DS is a shitty no-frills port of a game thats over 10 years old. I already have the original on my R4 and it’s the exact same experience.
This game could be good. The only issue I have are the PS2-quality graphics. Looks like it may not be the mega-hit hardcore game it was shaping up to be but I’ll still try it.

Am I the only one that senses that this game may be a big steaming pile of crap? I think it’s extremely odd that this game has gone from knowing nothing about it to it’s coming out in less than a month, and that there’s been ZERO hype, promotion, fanfare, etc. for this game.
I could be wrong, but usually there’s a reason there’s little promotion. Movies that are not screened for critics usually are because they suck. I sense it is much more likely that this is the case here. Just way to strange to go from nothing to “oh here it is”.
