Did you know about the Secret Soldier?

If I would of found this anytime I played the game I would of been really upset. I don’t think anyone every really died in a Zelda game before; besides Ganondorf and a whole bunch of monsters and bosses.

According to this video if you run in the back alley after you acquire the Ocarina of Time, you will encounter this soldier. It’s strange that no one has ever really talked about this… I guess people just run straight to the temple of time.

Have you guys ever found this?

Very interesting. I’ve never noticed that before. I think people presume that the world is usually ‘constant’ and doesn’t change during every plot change, so they don’t bother revisiting old ground.

    Cool find.

Link’s father died in the first 10 minutes of A Link to the Past.

But to answer the question, I never noticed this soldier. I used to just run straight to the Temple of Time. It’s strange that you don’t get some kind of bonus for exploring this section even when there’s an obvious direction to run.

That was his Uncle, and he came back to life.

Yes, I knew about him. I never though it could get this kind of attention, you know (front page on infendo :P). But that is one thing that I like on Nintendo games: the small details spread across the game. Nothing like that 🙂

    Best!!

Not once since all the times have I played this gem of title have I ever took the time to go back into Hyrule Market to check for someone like this guy after Zelda & Impa flee Hyrule Castle from Ganondorf. Very interesting though. I’ll have to check this one day when I go back and play this game again. Thanx for the heads up on this Will.

maybe he is just taking a nap???

    a dirt nap.

  8. watching this vid makes me wanna play ocarina all over again. Their will never be another game like it. if there is a game that deserves to be on top, this is the one.

Yea, found it. It was prolly at the point where I was exploring for hours without progressing the plot. Fun stuff. Every game should have a point like that

I found him too, but a few years later and after a few play thru’s. Got freaked out when he shooked and became motionless. I like that though in nintendo games, always something new to find. Didnt find a way into the black hole in starfox untill 1996. Supposedly, fox’s father vanished in there.

I found this the first time I played through all those years ago 0.0 Maybe I explore too much…

  12. ? says:

i agree with jamie maybe i explore to much because i found it on my first go round of course i learned to expect the unexpected from nintendo so when im in a game i explore every nook and cranny just for the fun of it even if it kills me 🙁 thank god for fairies .when i play a game like legend of zelda i actually try to go the opposite path of where im supposed to be going just to see what i find it usually leads to a dead end and also gets rid of that owl early a big plus.
Now if only i found a way to ditch navy, why doesn’t the owl thank she is a bug and eat her that would be helpful of course he is an annoyance so why not have 2 and lets not forget about the 3rd annoyance the dogs you can’t shake them off your leg unless you go into specific areas for some reason they can’t follow there.

    I stand corrected 😀

    @ chris

I have to know all this stuff. Trust me, we get twenty lashes if we mess up on Nintendo info.

I may have found this, but my memory is foggy. It has a vague sense of familiarity, and yet it feels totally new to me. I really need to go back and play Ocarina of Time again, it’s been long enough.

Whoa! I was using a strategy guide with all the Zelda games, so it’s no wonder I missed this. Man, I gotta go back and play it again!
