Dead Rising Wii – Famitsu screens

Thursday, July 17th, 2008 at 7:26pm by Jake

Dead Rising gone Wii

Along with Kotaku’s breaking news announcement comes fresh in-game screen shots of Dead Rising Wii. These come straight from the uber popular Japanese gaming mag Famitsu. The screens show us that the Wii version of Dead Rising looks to incorporate the third person shooting mechanics used in Resident Evil 4 Wii which was a near perfect control setup. Graphically the game looks pretty good minus some reflections, and textures as well as a reduced zombie count.

Yes, it’s one more easy Capcom cash in port, but if the same great zombie-slaying gameplay is there then I’m all in.

Well, at least it looks like the 360 version.

I’m impressed with the graphics, looks very good for the Wii.

Hey, I’m not going to get mad about a port if it’s faithful to the original. I don’t have a 360, so this is the best way for me to play this game. I just hope they fix some of the bugs I heard about (saving).

This game was meant to be played on the Wii. 360 version looked like a form of thumb torture… Well, any game that makes one aim with their thumb is cruel.

I hope that if this game has a sniper rifle, it will use the Wiimote. I didn’t like that RE4 forced me to use the dreadful thumb-stick in sniper-mode.

Nothing surprising about the visuals. This game would only look poorly, if DR were a PS2 game originally.

not bad at all- it will be good to see it in motion without the grain though!

I already own the 360 version (bought it recently, not blown away but it’s fun), so I won’t go for this one. But at least those without HD TVs should be able to read the dialogue easily, because that’s one of the problems with the original. Tiny tiny writing.

    Looks like a decent port.

But STILL a port. How about a NEW Dead Rising game, or at least very much changed version of the original. Having played the original, I can say it is a good game but not AAA like RE4 was.

Decent news for those who never played the game, but still just yet ANOTHER port, really.

I just hope that they sacrifice graphics so that they can keep in the hundreds of weapons and ridiculous number of onscreen characters. as long as there’s wall-to-wall zombies, I won’t mind if it’s not as sharp looking as the 360 version.

Am I crazy or does it look like they have brought Dead Rising into the RE4 Wii edition engine? The aiming looks identical, in other words awesome.

Glad to see a fairly good-looking port. Wii got it before PS3, to boot! Surprising, but definitely refreshing.

This game is going to have a problem: at $40-$50, which is what I think it will retail for, it’s going to compete against the $15 used copy of the 360 version. And the 360 version will probably still look better…

Another reason NOT to get an Xbox 360.

Seriously, reasons to buy another system are dwindling each year.

    @ fesworks

lol really? there’s that xkcd comic about not being able to be sarcastic enough that everyone online knows youre joking- and i really can’t tell if that’s what we’ve got here!

I’m not shelling out the money for a port, especially when they is a rumored sequel coming out.
