GameDaily’s top 10 greatest consoles rearranged by popular opinion

I thought it would be fun to rearrange GameDaily’s response provoking Top 10 Greatest Consoles using the reader polls that accompany the list — in other words, the most deserving (listed) systems according to the popular opinion of site visitors. They are:
- NES (91%)
- Super NES (90%)
- Nintendo 64 (82%)
- Nintendo DS (74%)
- Sony PlayStation 2 (73%)
- Sega Genesis (70% popular vote)
- Nintendo GameCube (69%)
- Sony PlayStation (68%)
- Sega Dreamcast (57%)
- Microsoft Xbox 360 (35%)
Obviously, the Xbox 360 took unjust flack for being named number 1 on the original list, even if it bricks more often than it should. And I wouldn’t put the N64 that high, the DS isn’t a “console,” and the PS2 should be higher. Original list as follows:

Wow the comments on the GameDaily are great. It seems like 90% think the Wii should be on the list and I agree.

I agree with the top 3. Even though the 64 wasn’t that great of a system, at least the great games it had were truly fantastic. I would, however, say that the SNES should get that extra %1, as I always enjoyed it more than the NES (though not by much).
Also, the original Playstation should have taken fourth place. It was far better than PS2.

This is like asking what super hero you like and then getting slapped in the face for your answer…..LOL
Let me just say I’m very happy with the VC and some thing says why isn’t the neo-geo up there? Well not enough fan boys or either not enough people who actually played one. So you could taKe the xbox off there and put the neo or even the PC engine.
