Yes, Samus is hot. It’s a pity no one ever notices how horrifically deformed Retro Studios made her. The SSBB (w/suit) pic is much, much more in line with Super Metroid’s presentation of her (and in that game, Samus’ sprites were actually drawn by the character’s creator, so…yeah, he’d know).

Great list…minor problem….The DK you show from SNES Mario Kart was meant to be DK Jr. I believe. I might be wrong, it’s been 2 or 3 years since I’ve played that game, but I thought I remembered that being the case. So, that’s my nerdy-as-hell 2-cents, loved looking at this all and all!!

Image is inconsistent in the timeline. Sonic advanced came way after most of those things in sonic’s line… also your put a gameboy advanced remake of metroid in the timeline and that doesn’t even make sense.. same thing with the donkeykong line… random gba sprite put right in there doesn’t make sense considering it came after the 3d games… WHOOPS… wait… same thing with teh zelda timeline too.
YOU DON’T INCLUDE HANDHELDS. i don’t see grey and yellow mario from super mario land… or the sprite from the super mario land that FOLLOWED that game… or any sprites from the virtual boy games… which makes your picture suck a whole lot of ass.

The article never claims that these pictures are in order of release of their respective games. The title says it all, it’s a metamorphosis from 2D to 3D, regardless of the age of the game.

Awesome… But I think that it is extremely retarded that Sonic the Hedgehog is in “super smash brothers brawl” I mean he’s a SEGA character not a Nintendo one But here is my opinion on all these characters
I suck at mario Games therefore they suck
Legend of zelda games are awesome, Link to the past and twilight princess are the best.
DK and Metroid…. meh
Kirby games are kinda fun but not that much

Pretty cool, though not sure I agree with Zero-Suit Samus being at the end, unless you have her in a line with her other game’s non-suited forms. , and end this one with her in her latest suit. I just feel the addition of Zero-Suit Samus was just to attract the gamer population that goes “Duh huh, boobies!” Samus has always been cool because she was a strong chick character who didn’t need to devolve to the Red Sonja way to pull off her character.

but why did samus loose her suit? i mean shes probably good with out it but how can i use her without her charge up shot???

also for the games to get better more characters should be added so regardless of whose character is whose i think its good to see more fresh faces.

samus lost her suit because people wanted to know who was behind it snake and sonic appearance in brawl is because fans wanted them at least in japan sega and nintendo are partied up a few months after the dreamcast then for using her in browl use up taunt down taunt up taunt as fast as you can. then its a metamorphosis not a time line and we are reaching the end except for kirby everyone has been a great jump and last but best thanks for the picture is fantastic to see them pictured in a a great metamorphosis.

It was a horrible idea taking Samus suite away. The game can hardly be called metroid anymore without the classic suite.

Earlier in the comments someone mentions Sega being owned by Nintendo. That’s not true at all. There is a new Sonic game, Sonic Unleashed, in development (Not Chronicles) for Wii, 360, and PS3. If Nintendo owned Sega, why would that happen?
