[Congrats to srkelley for the comment about SSX Blur for Wii! You'll have to let us know if the Kama vibrating nunchuck works that well for Blur once you receive it!]
Give-away! This one’s easy, folks. To win the factory-sealed rumble nunchuck you see pictured above, tell us which Wii game makes the best use of Nunchuck motion control and why. Failure to include your name and town in your comment will disqualify you. Infendo staff (mostly David) will then select and announce the winner on Tuesday, June 23, so get to commenting!

I think that the boxing games like Wii Sports Boxing does an awesome job using it. You can control the movement of your character left to right (sort of like ducking the punch) and also it recognizes an uppercut verses a straight shot to the noggin.
Here’s to hoping I win!

I gotta go with Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. Using just the Wiimote to initiate the lightsaber attacks is awesome, but combined with the functions of the Nunchuck to add in force powers like lightning and force push takes it a step further to epic proportions. And then in those moments when you have to align the controller, whether the Wiimote or the Nunchuck, to a specific position in a boss fight makes it all the more a useful little gadget. Nothing gives me more satisfaction than gripping an enemy in a choke hold and flicking the Nunchuck in different directions to have numerous objects fly in the screen and bounce off the enemy before throwing them straight into a wall.

I have to say Metroid Prime 3. Every action was intuitive. It just felt right.
SSX Blur. It uses the nunchuck in a manner as simplistic as the game. You control your characters movements with the analog stick and move the nunchuck to add little to a lot of curvage to your movements. I really learned what it meant to carve a mountain by using this motion. The game feels very excellent and seamless with this control. You can also grab the board with the nunchuck. If it wasn’t for the pinpoint accuracy demanded from the wiimote for ubertricks, the core game would be perfect. It would be another Spider-man 2 phenomenon. It already is, ubertricks are easily learned with some practice, this game is the greatest and most complete form off SSX to date. Very few games feel as wonderful as SSX Blur does to play, especially with the nunchuck controls. They’re never off, they’re never forced and for the few who would detest its’ use, there’s a way to turn them off in the options, but doing so would be equivalent to playing DDR without the dance pad or Guitar Hero without the Guitar.

I don’t remember all the different controls and I never finished the game but I always got a kick out of grabbing people in The Godfather with the wiimote and nunchuk held up and smashing them into stuff. Good clean fun!

I would say Star wars The force Unleashed, it would have us using the nun chuck simultaneously with the wii remote to preform different attacks, you could even use it so use force choke, by simply tilting it upside down it added another element to the game play, instead of just flinging $20 chunk of plastic around you would actually trust it forward to preform a force-Push, or even Pick up an object in the background by clasping your hand and holding the Z-Button and while holding the object, could could move it in 3d space by moving the nun chuck you also do nun chuck-only combos by using force push and Immediately following with force lightning (c-button) you could shoot a giant ball of lightning at your Foe.while other games made the nun chuck’s motion sensing, just another move, like just swinging it for a punch, this game turned the nun chuck into more than just a accessory but it made it a controller of it’s own!

Do you guys have a send to inferno nintendo thing.I don’t comment with others. They could try to stalk me.
It has to be legend of zelda twilight princess. U can push the enemys away with ur shield then just strike them down. It doesn’t get better then that.

Rayman Raving Rabbids (1). Name another game that will let you use the nunchuk to bombard lunatic rabbits with a hammer, slam port-a-potty doors on the unsuspecting, and even slap the living daylights out of those who dare sing off-key. Sheer cultured brilliance.
No contest. Star Wars Force Unleashed. I’d say that it is the best controlling game on the wii.
Wii Music. Because I’ve never played it, but the demo of the guy playing the drums looked ridiculous.
Super Mario Galaxy – One of the best Mario games ever, and you basically control the thing with one hand. The nunchuck becomes the controller while the wiimote is just an accessory. I love that game and cannot wait for Galaxy 2.

While Twilight Princess made great use of the attachment, I think Punch-Out really perfects it. I never ever feel like I’m fighting the nunchuck just to get it to read my motions, and I can’t say the same for any other game. Plus, where most games use the nunchuck in ways that feel unnatural, Punch-Out manages to use it in a way that feels comfortable and makes sense: it’s your left arm to punch your opponents. And of course, it makes great use of the analog stick for blocking, ducking, and upper-cutting. So that’s my two cents.

I’d have to say Super Mario Galaxy becuase you get that nice feel when you shake the Nunchuck in order to make mario spin, other than the Wii Remote, Plus, if your too lazy to pick up your Wii Remote so that the Blue Star on the screen comes up you can just shake the Nunchuck and Mario will spin.
For plain old Nunchuck use Opoona. The game can be controlled completly using nothing more than the Nunchuck… what better use for the Nunchuck than making it a viable control option all by itself?
For motion controls using the Nunchuck, the Boxing game in Wii Fit since it requires you to really punch in order to get more points and burn more calories.
I also enjoyed the motion control used in Okami for dodging since it came in handy in the second half of the game once fights got more hectic.

Metroid Prime 3. The nunchuk/grapple mechanic really feels like a natural extension of Samus’ left hand as the Wii remote is an extension of Samus’ arm cannon. These two mechanics makes you feel like you are literally in her shoes. Casting out a grapple lasso and pulling back feels as natural as it would in the real world. Pulling away shields from Space Pirate never felt more visceral and natural and adds to the excitement of battle.

The WiiWare game Gyrostarr is pretty sweet – you can control it using just the nunchuk, and if you want you can have one person playing on the Wii remote and one person playing using the attached nunchuk. Basically, you can play multiplayer with just one controller!

I’m gonna have to go with No More Heroes. Why? Well, first you couldn’t move with out it. But more importantly, you couldn’t do all those kick ass motion control dual handed death moves! NMH takes the mundane act of swinging the Wiimote to a new level, but doesn’t overdo it, by using the nunchuck in concert with the wiimote to read dual hand movements to deliver finishing kills that are as satisfying as smashing a wasp on string into a cinder block. Ya. That’s satisfying!

No More Heroes was cool with the wrestling moves (but the cord did whap me in the face a couple of times…it begs for the Kama!)
I have to agree with Kevin, No More Heroes was a great use with the wrestling controls. I didn’t feel like I was just waggling to and fro with some of the other games.
Obviously Punch Out uses it well to, but its used just like the WiiMote is, so not sure if you can really differentiate between them.

Suprisingly, I found Godzilla Unleashed to have the best nunchuk controls. Joystick for movement, c button for fire breath, z for block but most importantly- a simple upwards motion for jump. At first a bit clunky, but I wouldn’t want it any other way. It freed up button space, and felt natural.
Ever since I played GU whenever i pick up another third person game with ‘chunk controls I always instinctively flick the nunchuk in an upwards motion when I need to jump. It cost me a life or two several times in MadWorld. It just become so second-nature that swinging up with the nunchuk meant I would jump. It was quick and naturally-occuring. Burned into my muscle memory. And I didn’t even spend a whole load of time playing GU.

If you are talking about the best nunchuck control you have to go with Opoona.
As far as I know Opoona is the only game that can be controlled entirely with the nunchuck alone (aside from a little camera control)
When it comes to using the nunchuck’s motion though, my favorite game would be Zelda:Twilight Princess. Who can’t remember giving the nunchuck a little “Left, Right, Left” or “Right, Left, Right” action and doing a spin attack at will in there first Wii game (that wasn’t Wii sports)

I think the nunchuck control in twilight princess was by far my favorite. Even though the motions were simple and easy to do, they really added to the experience for me. It also made the game more enjoyable because it added to your already vast range of moves. And just one question. Will this be announced on the podcast or on the site???
In order to answer this won’t we need to play all of the Wii’s library in order to come to this subjective conclusion?
Wii Sports.
If you send it please have one of your people contact me I am not putting any info down.

I personally love using the nunchuck to rip the doors off with the grapple in Metroid Prime 3, so I vote for that.
THANK YOU! I would be jumping up and down, but I’m at work right now. It did help to brighten up my day by like over NINE THOUSAND! I love this sie and I look forwa to trying out new games with rumble in both hands, especially SSX Blur. I will post about it in the forums.
Congrats, srkelley!!
And I completely agree with your choice: SSX Blur not only has the best use of the Wii Nunchuck/remote combination, it is one of the most underrated games in the system!

Well for me it’s hard to choose between Super Mario Galaxy and Tales of Symphonia Dawn of the New World.
In Super Mario Galaxy (SMG), the nunchuck seemed even more important than the Wiimote because not only could you not move without it, but you could do Mario’s spin attack with it which was something that you could not play the whole game without.
In Tales of Symphonia Dawn of the World (ToSDotW), of course you needed the nunchuck to move but you could also use it to guard with Z and do unision attacks with C. Then you could input 2 attacks of the character you used or 2 shortcut attacks of another character onto the nunchuck and use them by swinging the nunchuck forwards and the other attack by swinging the nunchuck left or right.
I would probably have to say (ToSDotW) made better use of the nunchuck because it made use of both the C and Z buttons, using the control stick to move around and do forward B,down B,and both side B attacks, and as well as swinging it to perform even more attacks.
OMG! I completely forgot about Guilty Gear XX Accent Core!
The C and Z buttons could be used along with the B button to perform a special attack and by pressing Z,C,B,A at the same time you could use your Burst Gauge to perform a Burst or Psyche Burst. Then there’s the control stick you can use to move and helps perform certain other attacks.
WOW… it’s kinda hard to say which game put the nunchuck to good use, but i think the three i’ve named are just a few of the many games that have made the best nunchuck controls.
strangely, the best use i’ve seen with the nunchuk is a recent virtual console arcade game. i find it crazy that they went back into the arcade classic, space harrier, and incorporated nunchuk tilt functions to it. i was impressed to say the least. basically, you can set this option up in the game. what happens is you tilt the nunchuk as if it were a flight stick. i mean you could use the analog stick or dpad for movement, but with this option instead, you tilt the nunchuk and it is very responsive. makes the whole game worth buying and experiencing again. just like in a flight stick, if you tilt back, space harrier games up, and tilt forward he goes down. tilting left and right are self explanatory. very cool indeed. really puts the accelerometer in the chuk to good use better than any other game.
secondly i would say onslaught. you hold the z button and swing the nunchuk, and you unleash your laser whip on the bugs. you hold the c button and swing the nunchuk, and you throw a grenade. simple, but one of the better uses of the chuk.
oh also in onslaught, without hold any buttons, shaking the nunchuk makes your guy wipe the bug acid from his face. pretty cool.
speaking of space harrier, surprisingly, ign just got its review up. read it for yourself:
