Super Mario Galaxy - Orchestral music video

Thursday, October 18th, 2007 at 1:11pm by Jake

-Composed by Koji Kondo

I can’t help but be happy when I watch this clip. Why?, you ask? Because unlike Twilight Princess and Brawl, Galaxy will be completely orchestrated! To many this isn’t such a big deal, but to a musician such as myself, this is fantastic news!

How many Miis are in your parade?

Crowd sourcing on display in new Metroid commercial

Friday, August 24th, 2007 at 12:01pm by Blake

I love when large groups of people watch me play games. It’s like on The Last Starfighter when the entire trailer park community cheers on Alex (1:03 in) when breaking the highest Starfighter score.

Metroid Prime Trilogy: The intros

Wednesday, August 22nd, 2007 at 6:18pm by Jake

Let’s take a look back to when you booted up Metroid Prime for the first time. You might of had doubts that Nintendo would be able to convert the series into the third dimension. But when the opening cinematic began showing a shaky video feed of a modernized metroid while accompanied by an even eerier, but epic soundtrack….you knew that this was going to be good.

The introduction to a game is a very important element that in a way prepares you for your upcoming tasks. All three of the Prime games intros have accomplished that sense of an epic Sci-Fi flick that will slip you a few hints. Contributing to the Month of Metroid, I have combined all three intros of the trilogy for your viewing pleasure.

NES emulation on iPhone

Tuesday, August 7th, 2007 at 8:35am by David

There are some very creative ‘hacker apps’ coming out for the iPhone already. Not sure if it’ll play Doom yet, but a creative person came up with a way to play classic NES games on their iPhone. The touch control game pad is hot, but doesn’t seem very practical.

With only a month to go until Metroid Prime 3 is released for Wii, GameTrailers (via Joystiq) has a nice retrospective of the series.

Are you getting psyched yet, Infendonia?

Human Tetris in Japan

Thursday, June 28th, 2007 at 2:35pm by David

Okay, this barely qualifies as Nintendo-related, with the exception of it being Tetris-esque.

FYI: 218 cm = approx. 7 feet

Tesla coil sings Nintendo hits

Wednesday, June 20th, 2007 at 8:42am by David

teslacoil.pngSo you’ve created a Tesla coil that can play music, but what songs do you play on it? Classic Nintendo themes, of course!  (Would that make it a NESla coil?)  Head on over to MilkandCookies to check it out!

[Thanks, Jack!]

Video - The Nintendo Revolution

An epic tale with special effects as good as Dr. Who. If you’re a fan of the Mother/Earthbound series, you need to watch this one.

2,065 Mii Parade

Thursday, June 14th, 2007 at 10:45am by David

Infendo fan and Forum poster, CaliHurBoy, found out that it takes almost 5 minutes for 2,065 Miis to run across the parade grounds on his Wii. Roughly 214 of them are Michael Jackson, 108 are Jesus, and 42 are Mario .. but there’s only one Wenis.

I think its a YouTube record!
