Thursday, May 15th, 2008 at 8:01pm by Jake

rockrev495.jpgThis was a bit of a surprise to everyone today. Konami has revealed their version of a peripheral driven music rhythm game set to launch this fall for all major game platforms. Rock Revolution will support lead, and bass guitars, but the overall gameplay revolves around Konami’s new custom drum peripheral. The 6 padded Drum set is said to deliver an “…experience unlike any other.”

What makes this rhythm game unique when compared to Rock Band, or Guitar Hero? Two things: Wii remotes + Air drumming. Read on to check out the full press release, and trailer.

Tommy TallaricoAt Infendo we try to bring you the most positive and informative news we possibly can. When we finally started talking we managed to have nice conversation about Video Games live and gaming in general and we talked about his view on my review. Video Games Live: The Wolf in Sheep’s clothing

Sunday, April 27th, 2008 at 10:45pm by Will

Video Games LiveVideo Games Live is supposedly a concert of epic proportions bringing together video game music and symphony orchestras. This concert was started by Tommy Tallarico and Jack Wall, who are both composers in the world of game design. Since this show was stopping in New York City at the Beacon Theater, I just had to go out and see this, seeing as everyone is talking about it. This seemed to be the perfect Saturday evening activity, seeing as how much I enjoy listening to classic video game soundtracks. However, all was not well, as I was soon set up for disappointment. If you’re ready for my review and rant, hit the jump. (more…)

Super Mario Galaxy - Orchestral music video

-Composed by Koji Kondo

I can’t help but be happy when I watch this clip. Why?, you ask? Because unlike Twilight Princess and Brawl, Galaxy will be completely orchestrated! To many this isn’t such a big deal, but to a musician such as myself, this is fantastic news!

Where has all the good video game music gone?

Tuesday, May 22nd, 2007 at 1:29pm by Blake

Dinner DashIt’s not often one comes across good original video game music. The last memorable (and new) score I think I heard was Shadow of the Colossus from 2005… until today. Enter my new favorite (what I think is) orignal game music; the Dinner Dash: Sizzle & Serve theme for DS.

While I can’t speak for the game (out tomorrow, preview here, and it sounds cool), the music is just banging. Maybe I’m smoking crack, or this is a testament of my ultimate nerddom, but I love this theme music (right click to save). I freakin’ love it! We’ll be playing this for sure on this week’s podcast.

Which begs my next question: Where has all the good video game music gone?
