Sunday, December 14th, 2008 at 8:30am by Derek

Yo Adrian, we did it!

We’ve narrowed down a year of Wii software into a list of the ten best.

Each staff member submitted ten picks, and from those we chiseled out the overall Infendo top ten. We’ll be doing the same for the DS list.

Last year’s list is still available if you missed it. Otherwise, Infendo presents our democratically elected ten best Wii games of 2008.

And Apollo said there ain’t gonna be no rematch!

List looks at 30 rare, pricey GameCube games

Tuesday, November 18th, 2008 at 11:26am by Derek

Want a new copy of NCAA College Basketball 2K3 for GameCube?

I’ll cut you a deal. How’s $300?

Video Game Price Charts compiled a list yesterday of the 30 rarest and most expensive GameCube games.

According to the list, new copies of NCAA 2K3 are selling for $400.

SEGA’s Phantasy Star Online Plus, an enhanced rerelease of Phantasy Star Online, is also at the top of the list, selling for $200 new and $58 used. New copies of Beyond Good and Evil are also near the $200 plateau, selling for $198.

The list considered the highest sales price of GameCube games over the last three months. Not all the games are rare, defined as hard to find with small quantities available. But relative to demand, each of the 30 games is in very short supply, according to the article.

Check out the article for all 30 flabbergastingly expensive games.

The 16 most ridiculous-looking, cringe-inducing Wii lifestyle photos of all time

Friday, September 26th, 2008 at 3:54pm by Blake

The Wii is beloved by many, myself included. And a contributing reason may have been Nintendo’s unprecedented use of lifestyle photos, which turn the camera from televisions onto gamers, showing how much fun can be had playing Wii, as opposed to a screenshot you might not understand.

While nearly all of them do their job, some lifestyle photos look convincing. Most look pretty lame. But the following look flat-out ridiculous — the most-retarded-looking Wii lifestyle photos of all time. (more…)

Top 10 online Wii games; yes, it plays online!

Monday, September 8th, 2008 at 6:43pm by Derek

Despite what you may have heard, that little white box in your living room does have wireless online capabilities built in, which means it supports online gaming…at least in some capacity. More developers are finally delivering online experiences to the platform, and with the Wi-Fi library growing — albeit slower than a seedling — we’ve taken a light-hearted look at the ten best online games the Wii has to offer.

And yes, there are more than 10 online games for Wii.

10. Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Due to epic failure, Brawl probably shouldn’t have made the cut. But one time, I sent out a messenger pigeon in search of a Brawl match, a Wii owner’s most efficient means of connecting with friends online. After only two weeks, my friends got the message, logged on and pummeled me without a single moment of lag. Even the pigeon was surprised.

Bring ‘em on; Infendo’s most anticipated Nintendo games for E3 2008

Thursday, July 3rd, 2008 at 5:00pm by Derek

Dressed head-to-toe in glittering red, white and blue attire and rich with the overpowering scent of freedom and grilled hot dogs, July refuses to arrive quietly.

Forget flipping the calendar page. July kicks down the door, blares Lynyrd Skynyrd records and sets off dangerous fireworks in crowded residential neighborhoods.

July is so champ, even E3 wanted to be a part of it this year. The games industry’s annual media spectacle is two weeks away, and with their plates emptied, hungry Nintendo fans are awaiting sustenance.

Rumors are abound, and because roughly 73 Wii owners seem to care about third parties anymore, the focus will be on Nintendo at E3. We have gathered five of the most highly anticipated and most likely game announcements Nintendo may have in store for E3.

The best and worst third-party Wii publishers

Saturday, June 28th, 2008 at 3:23pm by Derek

Third parties, I’d like to apologize.

I have been pretty scathing toward you lately. In fact, Jack and I have both been throwing rotten tomatoes at you vigorously over the last year or so, and although our chuckling behind the bushes may suggest otherwise, I feel pretty bad about it. After all, some of you are releasing really good Wii games, and it would be wrong to not recognize your successes on the same level we have pointed out your failures.

I would like to make it up to you, or at least, to those of you who aren’t infuriating me with Wii ineptitude. We have examined the Wii software library and considered a few preeminent titles on the horizon to chisel down a list of the three best third-party Wii publishers.

Of course, some bitterness remains, and since I’m fresh out of tomatoes, I have also compiled the three worst. So if any readers have rotten tomatoes on hand, stand by for some severe pelting.

Infendo’s Top 10 Mario Games

Top 10 Mario games

[In honor of the Super Mario Marathon, we re-publish our Top 10 Mario Games list!]

Now that we’ve had some time to digest his latest adventure, the Infendo offices have been buzzing with debate. It spilled over into last week’s edition of Infendo Radio and has since been the subject of countless e-mails from listeners, readers and tipsters all week long:

Which Mario games stand the test of time? Which are the cream?

We’ve set some parameters for debate, and the qualifying criteria for a “Mario game” were fairly rigid during the development of this list. We avoided including entries from the countless Mario spin-off franchises, such as Mario Kart and Mario Party, with one obvious and deserving exception. We are referring to proper Mario platformers.

After all, this is serious business. Place your bets, friends.
